I neglected to write a review last year but this place deserves some serious praise.

We were in Caerleon for a wedding and I was fully prepared to put up with a poky, chintzy b&b for one night, and at £75 to be frank that was what I was expecting. I couldn't have been more wrong.

The rooms at Radford House (and they have more than the two photographed on the website) are like nothing I've seen before - the design of the decor and the attention to detail is absolutely tremendous - from chocolates in the fridge right up to touch-panel dimmer switches for the lights around the bathroom mirror.
After a long journey the joy of having an actual jug of fresh milk to add to tea rather than teeny tiny cuplets of UHT was quite overwhelming.
Add to that the beautiful and atmospherically-lit bathroom, the cosy robes and slippers and the Molton Brown gift bag and to be honest it was lucky we made it out of the room to the wedding at all.

There was a slight mix-up due to the arcane key system (as you go out you swap your room key for a front door key... unless someone else has swiped all the front door keys) but presumably the logistics of this have been improved since our visit.

Unfortunately my memory has failed me with respect to the breakfast but I can't imagine it was anything other than excellent.

A winner and certainly worthy of its five stars.

We just had an excellent stay at Radford House - Barbara and David could not do enough for us. The house is beautiful and the large bedroom first class - comfy canopy bed, lovely warm bathroom with a great separate monsoon shower. Attention to detail is fantastic - chilled water and chocolate in the fridge in the room, Molten Brown in the bathroom, robes in the room etc etc - I could go on and on. The full cooked breakfasts deserve a special mention. Barbara and David were so friendly and helpful and they deserve the 5 star AA rating. We will be back!
