The White Horse has no pretensions. Instead it has a warm welcome, a simple menu beautifully cooked, with inspiring vegetarian dishes, and excellent local beers, well kept and reasonably priced. In addition to the emphasis on local foods (including a liquorice ice cream, made in the village, that is exclusive to the pub), there are some nice additional extras, such as basket meals reborn at £5 each, and magnificent bread pudding for £1. It is a local pub for local people, with two open fires, plain wooden tables and lots of games. This is a pub with integrity in everything it does. Our meals were delicious, we went back for a second evening, and would go out of our way to visit this pub again.
