We stayed at the hotel for 1 night on Friday the 30th May to attend a wedding reception party, there was a small queue to check in as one of the computers had crashed but it wasn't an issue the receptionist apologized was a bit shocked we had to pay in full on check in never had to do that before at any hotel I have stayed in especially after paying a deposit already, made me feel like we weren't trusted. our room was 510 very spacious family room as no doubles were available at time of booking it looked very nice on arrival clean, big comfy bed nice view of the river, the bathroom was OK however the tiles over the bath were in need of fresh grouting had black mold on them, only a tiny moan but there was no shower cap or soap, they had a body wash that smelt very strongly of lemon OK for men but wasn't sure about using it myself would much prefer soap, also the beauty salon had already closed could do with later opening hours they closed at 4.30. We had a drink n the pub were prices averaged 5.00 a drink however if you are planning on giving a tip either give change or specify the amount you want them to take, hubby said one for yourself and the tip cost him a fiver think that is tad steep. The room the party was in was decorated lovely staff were on hand to assist , the buffet food was OK chicken well cooked and plenty to go around, the however there was no air con and the room became unbearably hot. Breakfast the next day was a very pleasant experience good mix of hot and cold food, staff very attentive only gripe would have preferred to choose were we sat . Overall very pleasant stay . Would not book if I was going out in Nottingham as would prefer to be central .

Room Tip: Our was very nice and spacious however need to bring your own soap and shower cap.

Stayed at this hotel in late May on business, overall a great hotel, good bedrooms with air conditioning, good food and a Spa and gym to loose those extra pounds.

Only two complaints:

Checking in was slow with only one person to start but was joined by a second sometime later.

The restaurants air conditioning wasnt working and it was really hot in there making it difficult to enjoy the meal.

Nevertheless i was really pleased with this hotel and would fully recommend it, and at the price i paid really good value.

The reception staff were very friendly and helpful and the room was clean. We used the spa facilities and swimming pool, which were OK. The restaurant food again was OK, but nothing special, the service very slow. There didn't seem to be enough staff on duty to cope with the various large groups staying in the hotel. Breakfast again was slow - a long wait for coffee, and an average breakfast at the end of it!
Pretty average generally.

My wife and stayed for 1 night in an upper deck room. Check-in was quick and easy, the reception staff were very friendly.

The room was very clean and well-equipped, very large and comfortable bed, no complaints at all.

The bar staff were very friendly, drinks were a reasonable price and the food was very good.

Did not try the leisure facilities, but they looked ok.

For a short stay, the hotel is ideal. As we have friends living close by, we will definitely return again.

Room Tip: Upper deck rooms are worth the additional (small) premium over a standard room.

The hotel overall is ok. The pool and spa area very good. Some disappointing things no shower gel or shampoo in the bathroom and it failed to arrive till the next morning after informing reception, no spoon to stir tea or coffee and worst of all being woke by cleaners talking and laughing so loud at 07:10am in the corridor when we mentioned it at reception they just we're not bothered!

Firstly I have to say that all the staff that I spoke to at the Hotel did their best to solve the problems and I feel that they were under great pressure.
I booked into this Hotel with my wife on a KGB voucher deal, which offered a single night bed and breakfast and evening meal in the restaurant and use of spa facilities.
When I booked, I was told that the restaurant would be closed but the bar would be serving the same menu.as the restaurant.
When we booked in we were put into a twin bed room rather than the double we had booked, but the reception staff were excellent and we were moved quickly. The rooms were very hot, as there is no air conditioning and no chance of sleeping easily. The curtains in both rooms were torn and rotting at the bottoms.
We went to the spa and the jaccuzi was not accessible because, we were told, the morning staff had not maintained the chlorine levels.
We went to the bar for dinner at 8:15 pm and were told that they were not serving restaurant meals, and that only bar meals were available and that there was an hour wait for meals after ordering.
They had run out of draught bitter and a number of starter and main courses were sold out.
Our starter arrived at 9:15pm and was incorrect and our main course eventually arrived at 10:15pm, 2 hours after it was ordered and only then, after complaining twice. We ended up skipping dessert that we had already paid for, as the table next to us who had ordered at 7:30pm received their desserts at 10:15, 40 minutes after they had finished their main courses. Meals were supposed to be served until 9:30pm, but one customer who tried to order at 9pm was told the chef would not cook any more meals as they were busy. The Hotel sent out for a take away for her.
This was meant to be a relaxing weekend and ended up as the most stressful hotel break I have had. This was all down to hotel organisation. The bar staff had no idea that so many kgb customers had been booked in and they had not expected to be dealing with their meals.
Whilst the stay was a nightmare I have to thank the staff for being so helpful in trying to resolve the issues, especially the reception staff and Grant the duty manager who stayed clam and helpful and did their best to solve the problems for myself and the numerous other customers I know complained.

Room Tip: Choose a different Hotel.
