Thank you so much. I am relieved as you have regularly stayed in another cottage in the village, so I had something to prove! You are welcome back anytime. Ros

“Comfortable and relaxing”

Savile House is a charming and very well equipped new cottage situated in the very tranquil village of Ollerton, even the nearby pub is dead quiet attended by mature customers. Easily accomodates two adults and our teenage children. We stayed for 5days.
Large kitchen with all modern amenities, comfortable lounge with modern (smart) tv so you can watch primetv and netflix at end of busy day if you so wish. Beds and bath/shower are excellent and new! Not that we needed it but heating is clearly powerful and everything double glazed and secure.
Close to amenities such as the popular watermill tea room, two restaurants, huge up market fish and chip shop! Though we had a lovely meal at the reasonably priced Griffins Head which is about 10 miles away towards Nottingham.
Locally, Sherwood Forest with Robin Hood (for smaller kids)exhibition and the Abbey nearby provide ample picnic and country walking opportunities. For the younger archery and boating are available at cheap prices compared to the South!!. For the more sporty, the Sherwood park run is well attended running 3 miles on a track through the forest.
Nottingham is 30 mins away with easy access to both football grounds, Trent Bridge and Notts RFC as well as both horse and greyhound race courses.
For the practical side a huge Tesco and smaller Asda are 10 mins away by car and an abundance of petrol stations.
Newark is also close and a pleasant town with different high street shops compared to the usual Kent variety. Park at Morrisons and avoid parking fees!
Safe to say you wont be disappointed if you are seeking a quiet outdoor break with some exertions.
Finally the owners are very helpful , easily contactable and provide guests with necessary instructions as you'd expect.
