We had our wedding reception at this stunning hotel .Melanie and Ian were the perfect hosts and our day was marvellous and enjoyed by everyone .Would recommend this hotel for anything but is ideal for a wedding reception for those who prefer character , charm and the company of friends and family without
loud music and bad dancing . Many thanks to Melanie and Ian.

Room Tip: try the new bridal suite with its four- poster bed.

Attended a wedding reception at the hotel. Plenty of parking, small car park and public parking nearby. Hotel has plenty of rooms, loads of character and outdoor space for children. We had a traditional three course dinner and then relaxed in the lounge. Unfortunately it was too warm for the fire to be going. Then a buffet tea with mini burgers and homemade chips. Wine and beer very reasonably priced. A very relaxed and friendly atmosphere in a beautiful old place

My husband and I bpoked a night here while running a stall at a vintage fair. We were exhausted and hungry when we arrived and decided to eat in the hotel restaurant as the menu looked good. I ordered vegetarian shepherd's pie but whwn it came it was completely dried up and and burnt solid. Also the veg were cold. I pointed this out and the man who served us took it away but said that everything was cooked to order and made me feel I was making an undue fuss. By the time another meal came my husband had finished his meal and I had lost my appetite. Customer service was non-existent and we felt the staff did not really care. I was offered a free dessert but this was in a very grudging manner. When we went to pay we complained but the woman at the bar just shrugged and said that all the meals were cooked fresh to order. There was no genuine apology and the general attitude was defensive. We were not offered any discount and all in all it was a horrible experience. We will not be coming back.

Visited here a few times whilst staying nearby recently. Food was delicious , served on crisp linen tablecloths. Cosy snug lounge area with a welcoming real fire and a great choice of drinks .
Quality food and drinks at very reasonable prices , will definitely be visiting again when staying in the area!
Only one down side is keep an eye on your belongings as we hid our golfing umbrella behind a wedged open door and unfortunately it was taken , so had a long walk back in the rain.
