Took Mum out for lunch today. We dined in the old Victorian Kitchen of Rufford .We started with spicy Buttersquash soup followed by the carvery. Really we were spoilt for choice on the menu , the vegetarian was very tempting. Beautiful fresh vegetables I am only guessing they were freshly picked out of his lordships garden. Our plates were overflowing , the cranberry sauce was delightful. Sadly we had no room for desert. It took real will power to decline the trifle. Afterwards we took a stroll around the lake and gardens which are beautifully kept.Excellent value for money.Pleasent and attentive staff.
