“"not impressed"”
Reviewed 3 November 2013

We attended the Festival as a large family group, we ordered our meals and waited - most of the meals came out together except two which we were told had gone to the wrong table by mistake, by the time the "mistake" was resolved by checking what had been ordered (twice) and the meals came to the table most of the group had finished eating. The food was ok but nothing special.

As the tables were being cleared one of the staff dropped a sause pot on the floor which splattered one of our group, as she wiped her self down she recieved a "half harted" Apology from him but he didn't seem to care that much.

when asked by the bar staff if everything was ok after our meal, it was brought to their attention about the mix up with the food etc
but agian was not interested and didn't even give an Apology.

“Good food, slow service”
Reviewed 25 August 2013

We visited here as a family on a Wednesday tea-time. On entering first impression was that it is very dated and dark. Definately in need of refurbishment. The menu has a large variety of dishes and are very reasonable prices. It was not very busy but after ordering we had to wait over 30 minutes for our food to arrive. The food was excellent. Hot and plenty of it. My husband ordered a medium rump steak and it was cooked perfectly.
We will definately visit again.

“Something to fill a hole”
Reviewed 28 July 2013 via mobile

We came to this pub initially for a drink & we ended ordering food. I came with my partner & father in law. Have to say our meals ( we all ordered burgers) were nice & cheap & the portion size was good. If I was to grumble, the chips & onion rings could have been warmer but for £5 a meal, I can't really say to much and maybe the decor couls do with updating. All in all everything was nice. Cheap & cheerful meal.

“Pleasantly surprised”
Reviewed 1 July 2013 via mobile

We stumbled upon this place after getting lost on the way to ikea!! I did not have very high expectations when we walked in but we were hungry so thought we would give it a whirl. Its basic inside so I did not imagine the food would be that good, but I was so wrong! We ordered a gammon and chips and a scampi and chips. The food came out quickly and wow was it good, it was obviously freshly cooked, very hot and just what we needed. The gammon was gorgeous, thick and juicy with a lovely runny egg and crispy hot chips. My daughter's scampi was the same, hot, crispy and fresh. Both were cooked to perfection. The meals were two for £8 so were an absolute bargain also. Yummy home cooked food at reasonable prices, what more could you ask ? :-D

“Family meal”
Reviewed 1 June 2013 via mobile

Had a family meal here today. Food and drinks good valued.
All meals were cooked well.
Have been on a number of occasions over the last few years. Food can be variable at times. But the last two visits have been very good.
