We stayed at John and Cynthia's beautiful Amamoor Lodge as part of the Equathon Riding Tour- one of the most charming B&B's we've ever stayed at. The hosts John and Cynthia were just fabulous- the food and setting were wonderful; the company just full of fun and humour; our gorgeous room had great views and we loved all of the native wildlife that abounded there. Sitting around the campfire at dusk listening to John's stories and eating his marvelous yummies while playing with their fun pal Nipper was a real highlight of our trip to Australia. Everything about the Amamoor was just simply first rate and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to anyone wanting to travel to the beautiful Mary Valley area. it is a destination unto itself.

Amamoor Lodge! John & Cynthia are hosts who go way past "The extra mile"
We were made to feel totally at home in a very relaxed atmosphere.
The scenery is spectacular, there are colorful birds that come right on to the verandah.
We even got to see an Echidna! The horses are so friendly & Nippy the dog is lovely.
You can take leisurely walks through the bush or more energetic walks up the hill.
The rooms are beautiful, the food fantastic. The Cob & co Coach ride was just so great.
We have been on many holidays but Amamoor Lodge is the best ever holiday we have had. Bob & Barb Townsville Qld.

Amamoor Lodge is a fantastic B&B. Nothing is too much trouble for the hosts. They made us feel at home immediately The rooms were elegantly decorated and spotlessly clean. The property has great views and lovely walks. There is plenty to do in the local area, while we were there we picnicked at Borumba Dam, sampled Cheese at the Kenilworth Cheese Factory and generally had a great time.
We participated in a "murder mystery dinner" The whole night was a lot of fun. The food at both the dinner and the following mornings breakfast was fresh, hearty and well presented.

We really enjoyed our peaceful stay at the studio apartments. The unit was absolutely spotless with excellent decor and the bed was just blissful. The facilities in the unit and at the Amamoor Lodge in general are spot on too.

We will definitely stay at Amamoor lodge when we stay in the area again.

It is just over a week since we enjoyed a wonderful two days at Amamoor Lodge. If you want a relaxing break with old-fashioned friendliness and hospitality, then I highly recommend this place.
To sit in rocking chairs around an open pit fire with a bright red Cobb and Co coach alongside in a corrugated iron shed filled with Aussie memorabilia(scythes, bottles and other paraphenalia) is to take a nostalgic journey back to the past.
A delicious breakfast on the wide verandah while being entertained by the wrens, parrots and finches in the flowering native shrubs as the mist rises from the hills is also a memorable experience.
Cynthia and John (our hosts) are sharing their "vision splendid" with us.
We enjoyed the in-house rooms-mine was Grevillia - complete with Cobb and Co glass and charming patchwork quilt , Cynthia's creation. She has also created leadlight windows decorated with Australian birds and animals.
As you can see I fell in love with Amamoor Lodge and hope to return again one day to chiill out and recharge my batteries.
Thanks John and Cynthia , your many years of hard work have created a veritable Aussie Paradise.
