This place is as about a rural setting as you could get; it's down a track off a quiet country lane and appears to be in the middle of nowhere. The buildings comprise of a separate farmhouse, the oasthouse accommodation and across a yard area the restaurant. We had telephone contact with the staff before arrival - they were helpful and cheerful.
The Russet room is in the oasthouse and is an extension; the room has a small hallway with separate bedroom, nicely sized with big bed, storage etc. One wall is a patio style window but as it's so dark at night round here this was no problem. There was a TV and the/coffee making facilities (plus some nice cake as a welcome).
The bathroom is very nicely done out and there is loads of hot water. The only downside is the lack of a shower; there is a bath with a handheld attachment to the taps. It may become an irritation for shower fans during a longer stay than a weekend.
The mobile phone and internet dependent will be frustrated to know there is little or no connection (you'll have your own take on that).
Meals - we had two of the dinners and breakfasts during our stay (separate days i hasten to add). Breakfasts are excellent - plenty of cereals with accompanying nuts, fruits etc. The cooked meals are very good and the bread home-made. Plenty of tea/coffee and of particular note are the local fresh and apple and pear juices.
Dinners - largely very good; nicely cooked and presented. Slight criticism was the propensity to overdo some of the flavourings - the balsamic reduction tended to overwhelm the pear and chefs tart and there was far too much mustard added to the potatoes. But overall the food is very good.
The staff were friendly and helpful.
One last and minor niggle was the constant background music at mealtimes; some people like it, not my cup of tea though.
Would I recommend Frasers. Yes, definitely.

We stayed for one night at Frasers after reading good feedback on tripadvisor. we booked a suite and it was fantastic, great atmosphere with oak panelling and four poster bed. It truly was one of the best rooms that we have stayed in complete with wine and cake. Lovely welcoming people and a meal that compares with Michelin standards. Thank You for a wonderful weekend.

Room Tip: Go for the Blenheim Suite

Had a great stay here, very chilled, quiet and The Frasers were super helpful! Breakfast is amazing and although we didn't have dinner, the menu looked very tempting. Wish we could have been there longer....

We booked to stay for one night and had plenty of email communication with Frasers before the visit and they offered us a free upgrade to a better room, which was a real bonus.

We had the Russet room was lovely and the previous comments about a lack of shower screen are true but with some care you can have stand up shower and not get the floor too wet. I can see why there's no shower in the room as it would probably take away some of the character.

Expect an early morning wake up if the sun is shining because despite the black out curtains the light and heat came through early morning.

There's more than enough car parking to go around and if you've got a decent sat nav, trust the postcode to get to you right place despite going down a farm track. Luckily there's a sign on the road because without that you wouldn't know you've found Frasers because you can't really see if from the road.

We ate dinner and breakfast there and the quality and taste was excellent, especially breakfast. The bar selection doesn't offer the choice of a pub but there's enough of most things to keep people happy.

The service from arriving to departing was great; everybody was friendly, polite and helpful during our stay.

We'd recommend it to others but probably one or two nights is enough unless you like walking or have places in the surrounding villages / towns to visit.

Just returned from an overnight stay in the Laxton suite, and had one of the best nights sleep away from home. I would recommend this location for people wanting to totally relax, or for a great special occasion venue with comfortable accommodation. When having dinner in the restaurant, 'wow' was the most common word overhead when the dishes arrived. The friendliness of the staff was excellent. The only reason why I have not rated the hotel higher was at the time of my stay, there was an empty marquee attached to the dining room, instead of the pictureque seating area pictured on the website, and the dining room was also used as reception and bar, with nowhere suitable, especially in cold weather, to just chill out and read unless you stayed in the room.

Room Tip: Laxton suite very comfortable wit bath and separate shower.
