Found this beautiful B&B by chance and what a find! I've not come across such a lovely B&B for a good few years. Mike and Di were perfect hosts and made us feel at home - offering us advice on the area, great breakfasts whether you are a continental or a full English breakfast person. Comfortable bed, large en-suite bathroom, great views from the room and even got to have a quick look around the farm (a calf had just been born).

The location was ideally placed for Cheddar Gorge, Wookey Hole (ideal for children), Wells and the alternative town of Glastonbury and its amazing tor.

Can't thank Mike and Di enough for their hospitality - will definitely visit this place again.

This place is lovely, peaceful welcoming and spotless! We could not fault it. Excellent room with spacious family sized bathroom with bath and walk-in shower. Tea & coffee, DVD player with a small collection of films, lots of local information and advice from the owners on where to go. Breakfast was excellent and well catered for children. A lovely place I would definatley recommend.

Not being one to normally visit B&Bs (Normally like the impersonal touch of the chain hotels) I found myself having to find alternative accomodation to fit in a two day trip to Longleat because the local chain hotels were booked.
Read the impressive reviews for Hillview and decided to roll the dice and book.
Spent the day at Cheddar and ended the day at Hillview. We felt very tired and (this is why I usually like the impersonal touch) I just wanted to get in and relax. Mike the owner warmly greeted us and registered us over a cup of tea and a slice of cake. He also very efficiently sorted out breakfast and recommened a few places to eat in nearby Wedmore. Hold on I thought we have just got in after a long day and my usual reservations about B&Bs were removed with two minutes. Why? Because it was effortless. I felt welcome to stay and welcome to go out and welcome to come back when I liked. By the way the front room at the George with a crackling fire and nice pint rounded off the effortless evening.
Back at base the bed was super comfy, very quiet setting, excellent shower in the morning and a great local breakfast. Again not overfussing but I felt so welcome. A great balance. Highly recommend this place for a quiet weekend in Somerset with attractions on the doorstep. Thanks Mike and Di. If all B&Bs were like this I would be a complete convert.

We arrived a bit later than expected but on arrival we received a very warm welcome and an immediate invitation to coffee and cake in the lovely farmhouse kitchen. They even provided heart shaped biscuits and chocolates because it was Valentine's Day. A lovely touch. We only stayed for one night and wish it had been longer. They really made us feel so welcome and at home. The room was very comfortable and the breakfast,a well cooked and served full English was absolutely delicious. 10 out of 10! When leaving the next morning to visit a local Cider Farm, we left a bag behind without realising it. When we arrived at the Cider Farm shortly afterwards, we were told that Mike from Hillview Farm had phoned to say that we had forgotten one of our bags! That is what we call service! Mike and Di really couldnt do enough for you and we will definitely be returning to this B & B again.

We had 2 brilliant nights with Mike and Di - this is a lovely, cosy home shared so well with guests. You really feel at home. Our room was spacious with everything you need for a great stay. We will definitely be back and can't recommend this B&B highly enough.

Myself and my partner sarah have been working alot of hours these past few months with very little time to have together due to our working commitments. So we decided it was time for a little break and get away from the stress of busy busy london. We chose to stay in the countryside for peace and quiet and it was the best decision we made. After reading the reviews, we felt the hillview stood out as one of the best in the somerset are. So we booked up for 3 nights from the 13th-16th nov.
When we arrived, we was welcomed by Mike as we parked the car. He escorted us into the house and introduced us to his partner Diane. It was such a lovely warm welcome and we was offered tea and cake by Diane whilst Mike showed us to our room.
We dropped our bags, came back down and joined them for our welcome tea, and almost immediately we felt comfortable and at home.
Our plans whilst we were there was to visit bath, cheddar, weston and wells. The location was perfect for travelling out to these places. Diane was wonderful with her information on places to visit and she also told us the best places to park our car. We listened to her advice and we thank her for making our days out so much more special .
The room we had was fantastic and it was so very clean. We had a tv, a very comfy bed, unlimited tea and coffee and a lovely en suite bathroom with shower. The heating is on timer for the mornings and evenings so you are feeling nice and warm when you wake up or go to bed .
Any requests about your room that you may have during your stay is no trouble for Mike and Diane. They will tell you on arrival that if there is anything you need, they will be more than happy to assist you . I can assure you that you will be very happy with your room, i doubt you will have any requests.
The highlight for me because i love my food so much was the breakfast . You are asked the day before what sort of cooked breakfast you would like and at what time you would like it. It was amazing as nothing was too much trouble to what your preference is. You also have an option of cereal, fruit and juices to which you help yourself to, and we were given fresh melon before our cooked breakfast was served . I have had my fair share of cooked breakfasts in my lifetime but i have to say that was the most freshest i have had . My bacon sandwich this morning made me realise how much im missing it already lol.
We will definately be going back in the very near future when london stresses us out again because this is the perfect getaway. You will feel so fresh when you arrive back home from this stay.

We stayed for three nights in October. We found it very welcoming and comfortable and very conveniently located for attractions in the area, particularly Cheddar gorge and Wells. Much easier to find that we thought it might be as it is a very rural location. The room was immaculate and comfortable and the breakfast was excellent. We will definitely return if in the area.
