“Comfort and luxury in the beauty of Snowdonia”
Reviewed 27 February 2018 for a stay in February 2018

This has got to be one of the best cottages ever. The views are to die for, attention to detail with furnishings and decor are outstanding and the property is so comfortable and warm and was a joy to return to after days out in the beautiful Welsh countryside. I would recommend this property highly to anyone. I couldn't fault it. Thanks so much for a memorable stay.

“Peace and quiet in North Wales”
Reviewed 22 December 2017 for a stay in November 2017

Two of us stayed 5 nights in November 2017 with the weather wet and cold. We enjoyed our stay and did a lot of hiking in the area - this is a good location for many different day trips.
Positives: The view is amazing across the valley and staying in warmer months would allow for use of the outdoor areas. Two warm and comfortable living areas downstairs - one lounge room with a fireplace and a second conservatory/sitting room that is lovely, light and airy. Well equipped kitchen with pretty much everything we needed. The peace and quiet is lovely but having said this we didn't have anyone staying next door in the apartment for most of the time. We did hear music when there was someone in there so can't say it's perfectly sound proof - but we weren't bothered. The owner is obliging and friendly but not intrusive. Negatives: We felt that many reviews have been kind about the "adventure" of getting to the cottage once we'd done it ourselves. Speaking plainly, the road is steep in parts and pretty narrow and if it were icy road conditions it could be a bit dicey if you don't at least have a small SUV (which we did). More signage to find the cottage is needed - maybe not allowed. You feel pretty isolated once you're there (which is what we wanted) but didn't realise how isolated it is. The main bed is on the small side but ok re comfort - can't be called "luxurious" however by any stretch. If you have any mobility issues the stairs to the bedrooms and both bathrooms (no downstairs bathroom) are narrow and very steep. There was no coffee (except some stale coffee in a jar), milk, bath soap or other toiletries provided which would be reasonably expected in a "luxury" cottage. It's a long way back to a shop for a carton of milk and a jar of instant coffee so be sure to bring it. We brought everything we needed but we commented that we were very glad we did. The linen and towels etc are also not what you'd generally consider to be luxury quality. Clean and serviceable but not luxxy.

“A holiday cottage not to be missed”

An absolutely beautiful place to stay, perfectly discribed in it discription, inside and out. Very spacious rooms, offering generous space for even 4 adults and pets, The kitchen is very well equipt, and spacious & theshower nice and powerful.
The cottage is very clean and the underfloor heating makes the whole place very comfortable, the decking with its little ambiant lighting is great for sitting out on, or even dinning out on a nice day. We stayed for 1 week but wish we had booked for 2 weeks
The 1.2 mile single track road running up to buzzards view, at first seems a bit daunting, but dont let this put you off, it is well worth it. I only have a small vauxhall Mervia, and it climbs the hill absolutly no bother, there is no need for a 4x4, as the climb is not over steep it is more of a steady climb with passing places should you meet a oncomming vehicle, Once at the cottage the veiws were stunning. On a clear evening the skies are full of stars there is no light pollution here.
The only downside that we found was the wifi did not work very well, but we belive that it was due to some stray cows knocking the satalite dish out of line.
All in all, a first class place to stay, you would not be disapointed.

“Beautiful - would love to come back!”
Reviewed 3 June 2015 for a stay in August 2014

We stayed here on a family holiday last August. We are a family of two adults and two boys - aged 11 and 14. We chose this cottage based on the stunning photos and description on the Sykes Cottages website - and we were not disappointed!
After a long journey from Nottinghamshire, we followed the owner's excellent directions and made our way up the lane to the cottage - this was the start of our lovely adventure. The journey itself was exciting and the views were stunning. Once at the cottage we were excited to explore and were thrilled to find the cottage was as gorgeous in real life as it was in the descriptions we had read. The owners have really thought of everything in this cottage - there is nothing you could possibly need that wasn't there. The cottage is beautifully decorated throughout, the bathrooms were spotlessly clean and the view from the bathtub was breathtaking!
The Bara Brith provided by the owner (made by the lady at the local post office, from where we bought more as gifts from our holiday!) was the most delicious i have ever tasted!!
The views from the cottage were stunning and we spent many hours sitting on our decking area admiring the mountains in the distance.
Even though this cottage is attached to another holiday cottage which was also occupied whilst we were there, we never heard our neighbours at all.
I would really recommend this cottage to anyone who likes the idea of a beautifully located, quite retreat. My boys have already said they want to go back!!

First of all,yes it is an adventure getting to the cottage, but it is well worth it for the views and the accommodation,it is first class with everything you could want, well appointed, clean and the log burner makes it even cosier, the views over the Carneddau were gorgeous (we were lucky they still had snow on them) the cottage is remote and this gives cracking views of the starlit sky at night, our son and his girlfriend stayed for two nights with us as a surprise for my wife's birthday and their first words on entering the cottage were "WOW" !!!!!!
Excellent hiking nearby with good walks from Trefriw,Rowen & Llanwrst.
Highly Recommended.
