Having finished the last glass of wine for the night, it's a short step upstairs...
A fine night's rest in our en suite bedroom.
And an equally fine night's sleep in the second bedroom, aided by a frog & cricket chorus outside.
Morning croissants and coffee can be taken on a choice of two sun-baked terraces.

“Panoramic views and bird song”
Reviewed 13 May 2016 for a stay in May 2016

We stayed in this 2 storey renovated cottage for a week. We came by bus from Beziers Railway station and did not bother hiring a car. It is at the end of the road on the way out of town. The next small village is a pleasant 3 km walk up this road. Like many houses of this era, the front door to the lounge opens directly onto the street. In this case the glass doors do allow for a little visual intrusion from those passing or parking their cars. But they also offer an excellent view of the shrub covered cliffs across the road and there was not a great deal of traffic when we were there.

Downstairs is the lounge and the well equipped country kitchen. There was also an assortment of foodstuffs which we were told we could use if required. It was a little like staying in a friends weekender. Upstairs there are two bedrooms and two bathrooms. Although there were no toiletries provided there were lots of cleaning products and a very efficient washing machine.

Outside were two separate patios, each with an outside table for four and sun umbrellas. The views were wonderful and it was very peaceful. Weather permitting this is whereu we spent most of our time when home.

This is the quintessential little French Village. It caters for tourists but only just. There are a few restaurants / bars, a small mixed business and a bakery. There is not a great deal to do but canoe, visit the Mediterranean garden and relax over a glass or two of wine. It is very restful. The only sounds are the birds in the morning and the frogs at night.

Thanks for taking the time to review for us Barbara. Glad you enjoyed the terrace, the house and of course the wine! You're right there isn't generally many cars going past here so its isn't too disturbing and it is lovely and peaceful in May in the village as the main season starts in July when the bars and restaurants open all the time.
Brave of you to come with no car as although its great if you just want peace and quiet and lovely walks with enough in the village to get by - we would certainly recommend transport here for getting around as there isn't very much public transport to visit other close by activities.

Hope you'll come and see us again though one day!

Had a lovely week here. The house was clean, comfortable, very well presented and equipped. We had a very pleasant welcome from the owners, who provided us with useful information about the area. The house is located within easy walking distance from the pretty village of Roquebrun. The location is perfect on a quiet road with ample parking area. We would thoroughly rcommend both the house and the area and will definitely visit again.
