As soon as you walk into the cottage you realise its going to be a great stay. It is so clean With all the beautiful detail and everything you could possibly need to make your stay special. The cottage is so nice you may just want to stay in and enjoy it - but there is also so much beautiful scenery on your door stop too. The walk to Jennys well and the bow fiddle rock is beautiful (Not to mention Cullen beach) We didn't actually get to try the fish and chip shop a stones throw away as it was closed the day we were there. There is so many wee towns to visit with lovely cafes and beaches.
We had a 5 year old with us and it was difficult to get him to leave as there is so much for them to do in the cottage with books, puzzles and games. ( He loved his bedroom)
We actually loved the cottage so much we booked an extended stay. We have already recommended to friends to book it. Don't miss out booking this place as I think once word spreads you wont find any availability.
This is one of the best holiday cottages we have stayed in. It is obvious the owners have put in a lot of thought and a great deal of TLC to furnishing the house and it has everything you could possibly want for a wonderful relaxing holiday. Spotlessly clean, very comfortable & cosy and full of lots of amazing little nick-knacks which are so suited to the cottage. Every time you enter a room you see spot something different. Some wonderful coastal walks right on your door step, the scenery is stunning. We will definitely return.
Can also recommend food at Victoria hotel, staff and customers all very friendly.
Located in the village of Portknockie, this cottage has been refurbished to a very high standard. I stayed for 5 nights on my own but plenty space for a family of four plus dog. There was no piece of kitchen equipment I couldn't find and many items that are often missing such as a decent knife salt and pepper etc.,were all there. The cottage was spotlessly clean and the bedrooms had a choice of summer and winter duvets. I would definitely go back and recommend to others.
We had a wonderful week in August at Gull Cottage in Portknockie. The cottage was spotlessly clean and so beautifully presented, I would say it was one of the best self catering accommodation we have ever stayed at. It was homely and comfortable, we had great sleeps, beds super comfortable. The location was perfect, close enough to amenities like the pub, fish and chip shop and small convenience store as well as being close to the harbour and the coastal walks. A great location to explore the area. I have no hesitation at all to recommend Gull Cottage, the owners catered for everything you could think of and the DIY ice cream sundaes were well received by my kids. We hope to come back in the future, we loved it!
The location is fantastic with beautiful coastal walks, harbour villages and stunning beaches. The accommodation was pet-friendly and 'simply the best' - everything you could possibly want was provided in the cottage. Would highly recommend both the cottage and the area.
