“Beautiful location, rustic charm, great facilities, fantastic hosts”

Hosts Carl and Belinda are great hosts. Hazel cottage has everything a couple need for a quiet relaxing holiday. Location is in middle of no where (in a good way), within stunning woods and meadow.

The Welcome hamper was a pleasant surprise and well stocked kitchen utensils etc made us feel a little silly for bringing a spare tin opener and washing up liquid, (based upon stays at similar properties).

The swimming pool was a lovely bonus, especially during the heatwave we had while we were there. Their approach to reducing landfill is great (certain food waste is was appreciated by the pet pig located well away from the accommodation).

The local supermarket is well stocked and the bakery in the village does a fantastic Gateau Breton Pur Buerre (is it short bread or a cake?). The cottages are 30 to 50 minutes drive from a mixture of 'must see' places. The hosts provided some useful and comprehensive attraction / local information in English and French.

Locally, Les Roches Du Diable, Kernescleden Church and St Guilda Church are lovely and free! Further a field - Carnac, beaches near Carnac, Pont Aven.

We loved the range of books, games and films, plus Satellite in French and English (this means you can just have a lazy day if you want). WiFi was another bonus.

We had a look at the other cottages and they are lovely too for a family visit. All the cottages were spotlessly clean and well looked after. The grounds were immaculate.

Yes, we would go back again and are planning our next visit.

“Fantastic Cottage”

My wife Fran and I stayed at this cute little cottage for a few days in the Middle of April. It has its own little deck overlooking a pleasant sloping garden / field and has its own bbq. It also has wifi (which is a must for most people these days). Carl and Belinda were excellent hosts and it was nice to know that they were nearby, so if you had any questions they could answer them.

The cottage is adjacent to 4 or 5 other cottages and would be ideal for a family reunion or get together of old friends. It also has a pool for use in the summer months.

Overall we were highly satisfied and would strongly recommend it.

“Cute cottage, a haven of peace!”

Carl is a great host - he came out to fetch us in the dark and the rain when we got lost! He and Belinda also left a welcome pack in the kitchen which was lovely to start us off.
The cottages and their setting are beautiful - we were on a house-hunting trip and really sad we didn't have time to walk in the woods or say hi to Carl's pig! We may have to stay again to take advantage of the heated swimming pool (not running in February!!) and the patio with a view of the woods where we only managed a brief cup of coffee. Hazel Cottage was cute, clean, well-equipped and a haven of peace in our busy schedule.
The information file in the cottage was really useful to help us find our way around the area. Lac de Guerledan and Pontivy an equidistant drive. Nearby town of Cleugerec was brilliant - vibrant small town centre with cafes, bakers, creperie, market etc. and the supermarket was open Sunday morning.

“Delightfully peaceful”

Hazel cottage is fully equipped to a high standard. The owner is on hand to help but is very discreet. Our welcoming basket of goodies was a lovely gesture and much appreciated.

“A Little Gem”
Reviewed 10 July 2016 for a stay in June 2016

What a place to relax and unwind. Hazel Cottage's position within the plot is superb. Everything you need was at hand and the owner was always available and very hospitable. Definetly will return. Great for owners of well behaved dogs.

On arrival, Carl was very welcoming with a thoughtful welcome pack filled with some essentials waiting for us - wine being included! The cottage was spotless and clean, with every facility that we needed being available. It is the perfect size for a couples holiday.

The cottage is idyllic and situated in the countryside away from any noise which made it perfect for our stay. It is also a short drive to local towns and coastal towns/beaches which were great for afternoons out. Carl had even gone to the trouble of creating a very detailed location guide of things to do in the area which we found very useful! The pool on site only metres away from the cottage was brilliant! I would highly recommend this cottage for anyone looking for a relaxing break away from reality!

“A tranquil, peaceful, quiet and beautiful relaxed place to be, would recommend to anyone, we didn't want to leave”
Reviewed 3 November 2015 for a stay in September 2015

We had a fabulous relaxed two weeks staying in Hazel cottage with our 2 year old daughter and our west highland terrier Billy, it was so relaxed that our daughter could explore freely without the worry and our dog could run around without having to be told to come back, the owner Carl is thoughtful and kind and very helpful nothing is too much for him he even helped us to book our dog into a local vets so that he could return home with us. We had such a relaxing holiday enjoying visiting many places that weren't too far away, but we also enjoyed a few chilled days at the cottage, as there was plenty to do, nothing could have been better as even the weather was beautiful for the majority of the stay despite it being step-oct for when we stayed, the only thing that we didn't realise was with it being out of season a lot of restaurants shut so don't serve food during the day, and sometimes when out we struggled to find places that were open, but it didn't put us off we still wanted to explore. Hazel cottage was a perfect place for our family and we couldn't recommend it highly enough we had a thoroughly relaxing holiday and didn't want to leave, thank you we will be back!
