One of the best individual B&B or small hotels I have stayed at. Better than boutique as owned by one very interesting person. A delight for the senses at all levels - from the unique and individually furnished rooms to the flexible dinner and breakfast timings, to the beauiful views and the peace...oh the peace

Room Tip: All are excellent - it just depends on whether you have a room or a suite...!

Château de la Pommeraye is the most amazing place. It is located in extensive grounds in a beautiful and peaceful setting in "Suisse-Normande"; the silence is almost deafening - wonderful. From the moment we arrived, Alexandre and Karine really were the perfect hosts - very kind, engaging and attentive – nothing was too much trouble. The chateau has been lovingly restored and furnished and the attention to detail is amazing. The bedrooms are wonderfully large with huge comfy beds and amazing ensuite bathrooms.
If you can, do have an evening meal prepared and served by the hosts themselves (given due notice). Be prepared for a treat; the table is set as though for royalty and the wonderful food just keeps coming. What an unforgettable way to spend an evening. The breakfast is equally delicious with bread cooked on site, jams and honeys locally made and apple juice made from fruit in the grounds. Everything is organic where possible.
The whole stay was very special and dream-like and we hope to return again some day. We have no hesitation in recommending Château de la Pommeraye.

This was truly a retreat. Our hosts were most kind and wanted nothing more than to please. Our room was spectacular, very spacious with all the amenities you would want. The view from the rooms reveals the beautiful grounds. There wwere a lovely area to relax in the evening and if you chose to eat there for dinner, you were in for a treat (although it did take a long time to get through dinner.) Our hosts were most accomodating and helped with restaurants and directions. Would love to go back.

This chateau is only 45 mins from Caen so great place to stay on was to and from ferries. The rooms we had were stunning and huge. The bathroom was immaculate and luxurious. The breakfast was delicious, amazing home made preserves, but might be nice to also have boiled eggs or cheese. We had dinner which was very good quality and wines delicious too. Other guests drove to nearby town for dinner. This hotel is rather like staying in a home rather than a hotel and the owner does everything, cooking, getting drinks etc.

Beautiful, we were looking for quiet, peace, to get away from the noise of London, somewhere that we could celebrate our first anniversary, we found it.
Dinner at the Chateau was very good, interspersed with varying amounts of Calvados, Pommeau and wine (be careful it is very strong stuff).
The room was comfortable, the bed enormous and sleep was deep, the quiet is surprising and warming.

Everything was clean, the decor is pleasing and in keeping with such an ancient and attractive Chateau, you must go there.
As with all such projects, Alexandre needs your custom, GO there!

Anyone looking for somewhere to host an event, this is it, I think it would make the most marvellous venue for a large family Christmas, rent the whole shebang and move in, Alexandre will look after you without a doubt.

Don't think about this, if you are looking for a really gorgeous place to stay, you must experience it, especially if you are looking for Zen like peace, BUT three days is not enough, five days may do it, but a week would be better.
Many thanks Alexandre, it goes without saying we will be back.
