“Fantastic week all round”
Reviewed 20 March 2013

We stayed at chalet chatelet for a week in march and absolutely loved it. Susie and her son Charlie looked after us incredibly well and were charming hosts. The chalet itself is beautifully done and we particularly loved our room with a traditional French bed and bathroom with enormous bath, all with brilliant views. The food was exceptional, and while the chalet is quite far from the slopes , there are a number of different areas to ski from 5 to 30minutes away by car - and transport is part of the package. A thoroughly enjoyable week - we hope to return in both summer and winter.

I wanted a comfortable yet authentic chalet with good food for a (very) short alpine break and I found it with Chalet Chatelet. Suzi is a freindly and welcoming host (didn;t meet Pascal as he was away, but instead met son Charlie, another artist) and the chalet is lovely and warm and "wooden"...which is what i love about the alps.
Suzi is a very good cook and i really looked forward to dinner....plus the company (a young couple from London) whilst from a totally different world to me, made for really good and entertaining dinner conversation with lots of laughs and a huge range of subjects covered! This is just what you hope for from a small chalet like this.
I am not a skier but instead had a half day snow shoe walk ("raquette") with local guide Serge Bigot, which I can throughly recommend....more than 3 hours out in a group of 12 ladies of a certain age (!) no-one else speaking English and me with just enough French to get by, but great scenery, the pace just right and Serge even brought us all a hot drink and a slice of pain d'epice! All for E23.
I also went up in the Linga telecabine and then made the short (but steep) walk down to restaurant La Ferme des Pistes and had a really good lunch for a good price.
I think for hardcore "ski in ski outers" this chalet may be a little too far out of the main ski area, however it was perfect for me and for anyone who doesn't mind a short drive (10 or 15 mins) at each end of the day to get access to both a great ski area AND a secluded, peaceful small village location for their chalet.
- Oh and i was very happy with Magic Transfers (recommnded by Suzi) from and to Geneva airport, door to door. I paid £68 return for a shared taxi which means a wee bit of hanging round, but not a problem. They do private transfers as well but costs much more for a single traveller.
I am certainly planning to come back here...summer would be beautiful too.

Chalet Chatelet is a wonderful place to stay. The location is amazing with breathtaking views up and down the valley. Whilst reading one afternoon I looked up noticed what I thought was a nice painting on the wall. It turned out to be a little window perfectly framing a snow capped mountain. The chalet is full of little touches like that which make it very unique. The baths are massive and the food is splendid. Highly recommended.

My husband and I love this place. We have been twice, both times in March, once as a couple, and then, as we loved it so much we went back the following year and filled the chalet with friends. Susie and Pascal have created a beautiful "eco" chalet & are perfect fun, interesting and kind hosts. The rooms are spotless, comfortable, beautiful and spacious. The rest of the chalet is a wonderful treat to come home to after a long day on the slopes: a bubbling hot tub, a huge spacious lounge, wood burning stoves, balconies, a little kitchenette and a lot of space just to "be" in. Your day will begin with a massive breakfast feast, which you will find hard to leave, and you will return to a warm welcome of tea and homemade cake, and another feast of a supper with wine at the end of the day. It feels like having "two for the price of one" holidays. You spend the day 20 minutes up the road on the mountains, and return to the tranquil village setting of the chalet. Perfect for taking days off from the slopes and just enjoying the chalet, and forest walks... if you are so inclined!
All the "extras" have been thought of that make your trip run smooth - transfers, local information and all the creature comforts you could need! Go and visit! Its a perfect "ski chalet" and you wont regret it....

having just returned from a weeks skiing I only have the highest praise for the quality of the accomodation, the friendlyness of Pascal and Susie and the delicious food and refreshments served. having stayed in many many Chalets over the years, including some that are a lot more expensive, none come close. A lovely Chalet, beautifully decorated, completely secluded but perfect for jumping into their luxery mercedes people carrier and having the option of starting the day at any one of 6 or 7 of the "portes du soleil" main lifts. We will defo be back next winter and we are also planning a return this summer to try the Bike tracks. The biggest differance between this and the other Chalets we have experienced is the total passion they both have Pascal loves his wine and beers and keeps an varied quality selection of both while Susie produces delicious food that was devoured by grown ups and children alike... They also have a friendly ski guide, instructor come farmer who took 8 of us around the less known runs while giving everyone coaching for a fraction of the price of going to a ski school.....ps his cheeses are superb and served up in the Chalet. Thanks for a fab holiday!

"My husband and I stayed here in early summer. It is beautifully situated in a valley filled with the music of cow bells. The house is a blend of good design and comfort - never contrived, just perfect. Meals were delicious, and Suzie was warm and welcoming and excellent company. (We did not meet Pascal as he was away on business.)At night we slept soundly in an excellent bed, enveloped in the total peace of the valley. In the summer there are good mountain bike facilities nearby - although we were quite content with the less energetic occupation of enjoying the scenery, the ambience and some excellent wine.
