Hi...
I'm Deval Patel from Ahmedabad, India
It was great experience with Kupu kupu Barong River Pool Villa.
It's my Honeymoon Trip at Bali and Ubud.
I choose Kupu barong from numbers of options. And my choice is not worth.
Very Nice villas, co-operative Staff & even butler is treat as like friend.
Nice non veg. food, But no Indian food option.
so my suggestion is for management staff plz provide indian veg food if u want lost of business from Indian tourist.
coz from India there is 70% of Gujaratis are travel abroad tour and maximum gujrati peoples are vegetarian.
so if you like more and more business from India then plz offer indian veg. option.
every body is not like me coz i'm taking both veg. n non veg. food...
At last again it's Awesome Experience with you...
thanx for everything...you make my vacation memorable....

Dear Depal P,

Thank you very much for your nice review. I am very happy that you enjoyed your stay and spent an unforgettable Honeymoon at Kupu Kupu Barong. Our staff is trained to provide the best service quality and it means a lot to us when our guests express their satisfaction. Thank you for your great information for the Gujarati's traveler trend and definitely we will discuss deeply with our chef to provide Indian veg food to maintain our Indian guest. We would be so glad to welcome you again for another occasion to our property.

Sincerely,

About 15 minutes out of Ubud on the side of a massive cliff with a river right down the bottom. Staff we're amazing and happy to help you with anything. Has a free shuttle to Ubud centre every hour. Awesome free afternoon tea! We stayed in a pool view which was lovely but didn't have as good a view as the cliff side ones, but as we weren't spending much time at the resort it was perfect for us. But I'd definitely check out the cliff side rooms if we went again. Highly recommend the resort.

Best honeymoon experience ever, atmosphere and view on the river, room beauty and facilities are amazing, staff is super organised and truly dedicated to cater to your every need.

If they know it's your honeymoon, they will pamper you even more.

Spa is managed by L'Occitane hence the type of massage and quality of service there is impeccable.

Room Tip: choose a room with pool

Completely different from the posh stay In Nusa Dua The moment we landed the warmth and the serenity of the place took over- the villas were a treat .A wonderful place to just chill !! There are lots of outdoor sports like trekking, river rafting etc on offer but at a really steep price: The food was good -loved the drive to Ubud market were there was so much of local stuff on offer- many bistros serving excellent food !

All in all a really chilled out experience !!

Room Tip: The villas are really awesome if you like duplex's:

Dear Vivek V,

Thank you for your review. I am glad that you enjoyed your stay at our beautiful resort Kupu Kupu Barong. The several sportive activities available around the hotel that you stated are very nice to complete the stay in Ubud in addition of all the main things to do in Ubud Center. We hope to see you again during your next visit to Bali.

Sincerely,

Kadek,
Manager

We enjoyed our six-day stay at Kupu. Its truly a spectacular site for a hotel-resort but setting isn't everything. The reception upon our arrival was good, as befitting a 5-star resort, however, our requested pool-view room was, as noted by another customer (see gplim entry of 11 June) not a pool view room.

We requested a change which was slightly better but still not a full view of the pool. We were told that if we wanted a villa it would cost a further +/- US$270 per night. Seeing that we were already paying around that much for the 'cheaper' pool room, we decided to stay with the pool-view room. The room was clean, however there are some things that need improvements, notably why are the mirrors so extremely low placed in the bathroom area? Also share similar concerns raised on TV reception and we had several power outages as well, which resulted in the activation of a noisy power generator outside our building.

But more annoying was the early morning loud construction works across the small slip road across from our room, which started around 7.30 am in the morning on several days and which woke us up. This was not previously announced to us by management, nor did we receive an apology for any inconvenience, which was a shame.

Regarding service, it was good, however, we were a bit annoyed by how pushy the 'butlers' were regarding what we were up to regarding our daily activities, which frankly bordered on the intrusive at times. We were put off by that somewhat and would encourage management to respect the privacy of clientele. It seemed that all staff knew where we were and when, which I know is meant well but comes over a bit over-the-top at times (especially when you know they are trying to sell you a day-trip or other hotel service).

On the resort site itself, we share concerns raised by others on lose tiles on the walkways, and the lack of good lighting at night on those walkways which can get slippery when wet.
On the plus side, the pool was great, as was the restaurant where we spent several evenings. However, one does run out of fresh options on the 3rd night.

Finally we found the spa a disappointment and would recommend that if you stay at the Kupu you seek another cheaper spa in Ubud. The spa reception service was not accommodating and the massage service was sub-par compared to other similar spa's we have gone to.

Overall it was a good stay in a great setting and a good base from where to explore central Bali, but improvements are needed, especially if Kupu claims to be a boutique 5-star getaway with the hefty charges that implies!

Dear CCJBrand,

Thank you for having taken the time to share your comments about the Hotel with the other travelers.

We are very sorry that you experienced the bad view of the first Pool View Suite that you got. Actually despite the fact that there is an extra panel hiding the pool from the view, the suite that you’ve got offers a direct access to the pool. But after having discussed with our Management, we have decided that we are going to remove this panel in order to offer a better view on the pool. Thank you for your feedback and give us the chance to improve our service level.

Regarding the construction noise that you experiences, we are extremely sorry about this. Actually this construction project is not from our responsibility as this is not the Hotel that handles it. We are going to see again our neighbor and try to find an acceptable alternative for us in order to avoid the noise pollution. We truly apology for the inconvenience that you faced anyway.

Concerning the butlers that you found a little bit too much intrusive, please would you excuse us. This service is the Hotel standard and most of our guests appreciate the fact to be assisted for the choice of their activities and to have follow up on the proceedings of their stay.

Finally I am sorry again for your disappointment regarding our spa service by l’Occitane that you did not enjoy. It is quite surprising as our Mango Tree Spa.

We would be very happy to welcome you again and you could measure by yourself all the improvements we have made during your next trip to Bali.

Sincerely,

Kadek
