We stayed in a valley pool villa situated high on the hill overlooking the valley. The view was simply stunning and swimming in the infinity pool while the mist lifted from the forest below was something I'll never forget. The villa itself was beautifully decorated with the huge bed facing onto the valley - this meant you could enjoy the view as you woke in the morning. The huge stone bath in the bathroom was a nice touch also. A word of advice is to spray insect killer/repellent around the doors and windows, every night. Being in the middle of a forest, we expected bugs but the huge gaps between the door frames don't help at all.
The view from the hotel restaurants (there are 4 of them) is breathtaking - the architecture complements the surroundings very well. I've not given this hotel 5 stars because of the standard of the food and service. The food was average but shockingly expensive for what you got. And wine averages $90-$100 (AUD) a bottle for something that costs half the price in Ubud town. Service at the hotel was patchy - some staff bent over backwards to help while others were quite surly - very rare in Bali.
All in all the hotel is well worth it for the views and I would recommend a stay here just for that.More
