We stayed for one night in December 2014 for a much needed nights getaway. We stayed in one of the apartments, had dinner in the Orangery, used the SPA for some treatments and had lunch in the Club House. All were exceptional, without fault and with impeccable levels of service. We left with a smile and pampered feeling.

It was just disappointing we left after one night.

This is a pricy getaway break but you certainly get what you pay for. By far the best place we have stayed in the UK.

We booked for a night in an Old Hall Suite for my wife's birthday. The whole stay was great from the room, to the Spa, to the Cocktail Bar for pre-dinner drinks, the Brasserie on Saturday night (great food, but also relaxed atmosphere) and the Orangery for a great breakfast (try the kippers) on Sunday morning. Quite expensive, but worth every penny for a special occasion.

Room Tip: Old Hall Suite was great, but rooms in the new wing are also lovely and probably better value for mo...

We spent two nights here, the first for a Christmas party at the Golf Club following an afternoon in the Spa facilities. The second for a full afternoon of Spa treatments and a meal in the Orangery that night.

The whole experience from check-in to check-out was fantastic. With friendly, efficient staff who have just the right level of attentiveness without over doing it.

The Spa is second to none and we would both recommend the Salt room, Rasul Mud room and a hot rocks massage for starters.

The evening meal in the Orangery was also very good and worthy of its AA rosette awards.

If your looking for a great Hotel and Spa experience you can't go wrong here.

It's certainly not cheap but for a considered weekend break it is value for money.

My partner received an afternoon tea gift token for Rockliffe Hall back in April and we purposely did not use it until 6th December as we thought that this would be a good way to get us both into the Christmas mood.
The welcome we received was excellent and the food was historic, the attention to detail (even though it was "only" afternoon tea) was on another level.
The staff throughout our (albeit too brief) stay were friendly, attentive and very personable.
I honestly wish I had had the forethought to have taken the names of these people to be able to thank them in this review, however I am sure there are rotas that can be consulted to figure out who they were, and to be able to pass on our comments (but they must get loads of these!!)
Upon leaving the hall we had a brief chat with "Anton", who gave us advice about booking maybe a longer stay which was informative and helpful.
All in all this short visit was absolutely brilliant.
Just keep on doing what you are doing.
Only one small "moan"..it will now cost me a large amount in surgeons fees to have the smile removed from my face!!!
Mr. Gibson may want to contribute!

We stayed at Rockliffe Hall in November for 3 nights and from the moment we arrived everything was perfect. From being greeted by Concierge for valet parking to the relaxed check in process, before being shown to our room for a quick guide on how to work everything, the whole process made us feel extremely welcome. The hotel has got the balance just right with staff being there to meet your every need but without you feeling like you are being watched all the time!

We stayed in a New Hall Superior Room which was fantastic. The room was large with a seating area with 2 sofas, a dressing area, large bathroom and separate toilet. The mood lighting was great but we did struggle a little to put the toilet light on in the middle of the night! The New Hall rooms were in an ideal location for using the spa.

We visited the spa twice and were really impressed with the thermal bathing suite and hydrotherapy pool.

We ate in all 3 restaurants and couldn't fault any of them but our favourite was The Orangery where the food was fantastic. Breakfast was in The Orangery with a good selection of both hot and cold choices whilst overlooking the golf course.

We are looking forward to booking a return trip to Rockliffe Hall in the near future.

Room Tip: New hall rooms ideal for spa

This is a lovely hotel, rooms are large, well fitted and good quality - if I had a gripe it's that the hotel could be anywhere in the world and it's all a bit "samey" with not much to make it truly unique. Service however is fabulous and compares with most of the best hotels in the world.

I do like the open log fire in the reception lobby, a nice touch but the rest looks like a lot of golf break hotels I have been in....there are lots of sitting areas and lounges, a nice touch and it's pretty much a view of the green concrete of a golf course outside. There is little or nothing to do nearby, unless you play golf or enjoy walking.

Main moan is the room service food, I had pasta delivered, and at a hefty price, and got a bowl of pasta, decent sauce, and half a bowl of cooling water where the pasta had not been drained - now that's a very basic error and very much at odds with the hotels reputation for food.

So, all fine as a hotel, great if him want to,play gold here, or have a reason for being in this part of the world but I think I might have been a wee bit disappointed if I had made a long journey here for a special weekend or something....

We recently stayed at Rockliffe Hall for two nights, I can truthfully say I had a wonderful time, the service at the hotel is amazing, the food was spectacular and our room one of the best I have ever stayed in. The Spa and facilities were very special and my treatment “Sacred Moments” was a real treat. On our last morning we enjoyed breakfast at the Brassiere sat on the balcony enjoying the morning sun looking over the beautiful grounds. We will be returning again in 2014.. Thank you to all the Staff at Rockliffe.
