“Good Food, Staff, Clean Facilities”
Reviewed 3 April 2012 via mobile

My wife and I are on a month long trip to the UK and Ireland with extensive touring. We have stayed in many and more expensive places along the way but we enjoyed our night here. The young woman who greeted and booked us in was friendly and helpful, my wife and I enjoyed our meals. The room was spacious, warm and clean. The young man who, prepared and served our breakfast was also very friendly and helpful. I wouldn't hesitate recommending the Inn. As a bonus we had some dear appear outside our window in the morning!

I feel I must write as conincidently my husband and I were in the lochailort hotel on the day the cyclists were there. We walked into a very friendly and warm welcome. The staff were most helpful and polite, so friendly I noticed they permitted the cyclists to dry off their wet clothes over all the radiators and park the 14 bikes outside! Was it perhaps the weather that put these people in bad form before they even arrived? I had the homemade soup and sandwiches which was absolutely delicious. My husband had the steak and said " it was the best steak he had every eaten and was seasoned to perfection" I struggle to understand how the wet cyclists had such a different experience!!!! The barman was very helpful when 2 tourists arrived lost giving them directions to mallaig. The waitress was friendly and came to check we were happy with everything. The chef cooked outstanding food everything was fresh and perfection on a plate. We asked to speak to the chef to compliment him personally.
I would most certainly eat there again and have plans to go back this sunday with my mother for mothering sunday. A truly enjoyable experience and I wont hesitate to make the 50 mile drive on sunday for good food!

i took the time and trouble to phone ahead (a week) to see if they could accomodate 14 cyclists for lunch. Oh yes no problem !! On entering we were told there were no menus but the barman ran through what was available after 3 attempts to take our order we eventually got our food in the wrong order. sandwiches first then soup ! . The speciality dish was adequate but we had just cycled 52 miles with 38 still to go so anything would suffice. The barman did his best but we were let down badly with the establishment and will never set foot in this place again. we spent about £140 in an hour and a half.

we arrived at the height of a hurricane late at night and were immediately made welcome. the kitchen was closed but the staff made us soup and sandwiches, they were the best we ever tasted after driving through the hurricane on washed out roads. bfst was very good. the room was nice, the hospitality excellent. we were on our way to Skye, but the ferry was not operating due to the rough waters, so we had to drive back around Fort William, but that didn't matter, we were in Scotland and on an adventure. Hats off to the manager, she was very nice.

We visited the Lochailort Inn last summer with the family, and the hospitality and food were both excellent!

Thank you very much from the Bergans family from Belgium!
