Booked for two nights, loved the relaxed atmosphere, sitting in the bar, made vey welcome as was our dog. He was allowed to stay in the bar with us for dinner, we said hello to the locals and he said hello to the local dogs. Food was excellent on both nights, top quality at very reasonable prices. Staff were great, very welcoming and helpful. Downside, very uncomfortable bed, a mattress topper would be a good investment. A good, down to earth stay, but some room to improve with the nights sleep.

We booked this inn in advance in planning a trip to Mull and decided to get to the island by a different route for a change. Lochailort was ideal as the ferry at Kilchoan is only a relatively short drive away.
Good decision! A comfortable room; plenty of space and a large bathroom as well. The evening menu turned out to be a real surprise as it wasn't the standard sort of bar food we were expecting. Wonderful choices from the 'specials' board and a great breakfast the following morning.
No real frills as such but a warm welcome and should we decide on this route to Mull for another visit, we'll certainly see if Lochailort has any vacancies.

We stopped off for a quick lunch. The inn was very quiet when we were in, with just a few people having a drink at the bar and one other couple having lunch. The bar feels cosy and would probably be really nice in the evening when full with more people. They were playing some great Scottish music and apparently these were of local bands who also play at the inn. Our food - a Ploughman's and a burger - was nothing to write home about but certainly adequate. The inn is right on the road but if you pick the right place in the bar, you can get a view!

We arrived in Lochailort Inn quite early in the morning, cold and soaked because of the rain (travelling on our bicycles) and asked for a tea. The place was not open, we were dripping.

Altough the early hour and the fact that the staff was very busy "with eleven rooms to look after", we were kindly allowed in the bar and served a big pot of tea.

The place was very cosy, nicely decorated in a classical style. The whole hotel seems to be very attractive and well kept. The board annoncing the "specials" in the bar was definitely mouth-watering.

We live in Spean Bridge and on the 2nd last day of our holidays we took a drive around the penninsula and stopped at the lochailort in for dinner before returning home. What can i say the bar maid was lovely poor woman was rushed off her feet drinks, food service, check ins but she looked after everyone with a genuine smile and made everyone feel at home theres not many like her left that can multi multi task and still be happy. Dinner was amazing the service was good and the food cooked to perfection I would highly recommend it to anyone. If the chowder is on the specials menu you have got to have it it is absolutely packed full of seafood i have never seen anything like it absolutely wonderful.Everyone including the locals in for a few drinks at the end of the day where friendly and very helpfull when we had battery trouble and our car wouldnt start thankyou. If your passing do yourself a favour and stop you wont regret it. Look forward to next time we are out that way.

I booked the Lochailort Inn as accommodation in Fort William was very expensive. I'm glad I did as my room was large, comfortable and clean and the breakfast very tasty. The bar was pleasant and whilst it does not serve draft real ale, bottles are available. The station of the same name on the West Highland line is 5 mins walk away and it's only 50 mins to Fort William where it's possible to spend the evening, travelling back on the 2214.

Room Tip: Rooms at the front are probably better as there are no extractor fans
