was worried by the bad reviews but not to worry it was fantastic, room lovely. would have liked a fridge and safe but hey ho, it was nicely done, and the evening meal was ok, need some attention to little details though. as someone else said the public areas are run down but when they are done up it will be a top hotel. pool and other facilities was great. gardens lovely. breakfast was a bit rubbish though. cheap ingredients. short drive up to park and ride made it easy access to town whithout worrying about the car, but finding the place was a bit difficult. I will go back again if the prices are right.

Just returned from staying 3 nights with myself, husband and our son.We stayed in room 26 it was fabulous really big size room refurbished to a high standard, the bathroom was lovely large shower and bath.

The hotel is set back from the road with nice quiet surroundings and a perfect location for the city centre only 10mins drive.an taxi fare was reasonable aswell.

The bar is only very small but had a variety of drinks to choose from,The spa facilities were great, nice swimming pool enjoyed using the sauna an gym. With free use of lockers, towels and robes.

We didn't eat in the resturant at night but the breakfast very nice ample amount of choice. The staff were very polite and attentive.

Overall a great stay here from checking in (as we did arrive early)and checking out through to the spa staff were all helpful an very kind, especially with our son to.

When we next visit chester I would be sure to come again.

I visit Chester a couple of times a month on business. Crabwall Manor is a new addition to the hotels I have used in the area and definitely a new favourite.

Situation just over 2.5 miles outside the city, Crabwall Manor is a handsome building set well back from the road in nice quiet grounds. The hotel is coming towards the end of an impressive refurb and it looks to be worth every penny. The fittings and decor are first class, although the directional signage hasn't been put up yet so getting from A to B around the corridors can be quite an adventure! I had an Executive room that was excellent - a large room with super comfortable bed and furnishings. My only gripe would be the slightly feeble water pressure in the otherwise perfect bathroom.

The pool and gym within the spa are both well equipped with the pool a decent size. Ate in the bar at night and had breakfast in the morning. Nice to have breakfast orders taken by a human and brought to your table rather than the trend for buffet style.

Finally, great staff throughout with excellent service. Will stay here again for sure.

Fantastic huge room and bathroom recently refurbished, staff really friendly. Our room was next to the spa and as guests walked along the corridor to enter the spa let the door swing close shut and it banged this continued until 10pm and again when spa opened at 6.00am- the door could do with soft closers on it. The bathroom was huge, the shower was above the bath, the bath could do with a grab rail as it was high and set into tiles so was rather difficult to get in and out of when the bath bottom was wet especially for less mobile guests. I felt it would have been easy to slip and fall. Cooked full english breakfast was cooked to order and the staff were very helpful and friendly.

We have just returned from a stay at Crabwall Manor and until we came to check out could find no faults, when we checked in we asked for a ground floor room for my disabled mother which she had and was totally delighted because it has a little patio outside so she could get out in the night for a cigarette. Each night she cleaned up the little table outside and put her rubbish in the bin in her room at no point did she smoke in her room. When we came to check out we were fined £75 for smoking in the room because they had evidence that she had been because she had left it in the bin, The manager was not willing to listen to this and insisted we paid up. My mother was extremely upset at this as she had purposely not smoked in the room and the non-smoking cleaner almost called her a liar. We were going to return but would not do so now due to the shoddy way she was treated.

Room Tip: downstairs room are cooler

Dear MiniCooper00;

Thank you for your review. I am pleased to see that you enjoyed the hotel and its facilities. With our refurbishment now fully completed feedback is usually very positive.
I am sorry that we had to charge you £75 for smoking in the bedroom; you stayed for 2 days in our hotel and since your departure (yesterday) we have been unable to sell your bedroom due to the strong smell of cigarettes smoke.
Crabwall manor has designated smoking areas and as such I would recommend that you consider using them at your next stay.
Once again thank you for your comments.
Regards

Kind regards

Just returned from an overnight stay at Crabwall Manor to celebrate our anniversary. On arrival the receptionist was one of the friendliest we have ever met, asking about our journey and why we were in Chester etc. We stayed in room 10, one of the suites. The room was stunning, very spacious and very modern. The bed was huge and very comfortable.

After checking in we went for a swim and used the spa facilities which were surprisingly empty at 5pm, so we pretty much had it to ourselves. Robes and towels are provided. We ate in the evening at the restaurant downstairs. The food was absolutely delicious, and service excellent. The only downside to this meal was that the restaurant was pretty much empty, so no atmosphere at all. It was a shame because the food was excellent and restaurant therefore worth a visit!! The location of the hotel is also very close to Chester centre; only a 10 minute drive at most!

Overall a very relaxing stay, with excellent service in a lovely hotel. We will definitely be returning!!!
