We stayed for only one night but would have liked much longer. The hotel is emerging from a full renovation and a very good job they are making of it. The staff were helpful and friendly although they were working in very difficult conditions.
Our room just finished looked lovely. The beds although comfortable had a very thin duvet so you had to sleep in a hot room which isn't to my liking but on asking we were provided with extra bedding.
We were lucky to be right next to the spa which was a real treat.
Breakfast was good although the table clothes could have looked a little crisper.
Overall a butterfly emerging.

Room Tip: All the rooms I saw looked excellent.

Lovely hotel undergoing some maintenance work at the moment, will be even more stunning when finished. Building work did not interrupt our stay and we were lucky enough to be upgraded to a beautiful suite for our one-night stay. Staff friendly and helpful in our experience. thanks for a great stay

Well we were very disappointed with this hotel. It started off badly because the receptionist was unwelcoming and miserable, she didn't smile once! Got to quite a large room which was nice but the windows that were closed didn't open and the windows that were open didn't close! When having a shower you had to switch the shower off half way through to let the water go down the plug hole before it flooded the bathroom, it was a very slow process! The water took ages to go down the sink's plug hole too, not nice when you're brushing your teeth!

The spa was ok as long as you're not shy! There are no individual changing rooms so you have to dress and undress in front of other guests in one small changing room. The sauna room was tiny and there was some tiles missing in the jacuzzi but the pool was quite warm.

The bar was very uncomfortable as it's just a tiny room with a bar in it. No music, no atmosphere, very awkward.

Breakfast the next morning was nice, the only complaint is that they only serve smoked bacon but otherwise there was plenty of choice and we were served quickly.

We weren't told about the refurbishment going on at the hotel when we booked but we definitely knew about it when we heard all the banging and drilling going on underneath our room!

Overall, we were very disappointed with the poor service, the poor maintenance, the unfriendliness and the horrible atmosphere at the hotel. Such a shame.

Stayed here for two nights DBB with my partner by way of a belated Valentine/ Half Term treat. We first visited the hotel to make enquiries back in December and when we arrived for our stay in February, we were greeted like "old friends." We were fortunate to be upgraded - what a lovely treat! Superb room / suite - spacious, beautifully decorated, an even larger than "king size" bed with a huge bathroom; (walk in shower and also separate bath). The hotel has had/ is in the final stages of a huge investment programme, which is nearly completed. Even though the hotel had work being undertaken during our stay, the service was still great - with special thanks to Dee (reception, for sorting out our pillows); Damon (also reception, for his professionalism and excellent customer service); and to Ryan, Matty, Michael and Jose who looked after us for our breakfasts and evening meal in the restaurant. We feel we have to comment on some of the negative comments in previous reviews e.g. room temperature, etc. In our experience, when any problems arise in hotels where we are staying, we always bring it to the attention of the hotel staff. In 9/10 situations, the problem is almost always resolved - if the staff do not know there is a problem, they can not help you. Much better to deal with any issues and enjoy your stay, than to write about it on this site without giving staff the chance to help!
To Damon and team - "keep up the good work!"

just stayed for two nights but it is obviously having some work done and our room seemed quite newly decorated which is always nice. large room with settee coffee table and two chairs as well as a very large bed. bathroom very large with walk in shower and separate bath. visited the spa nice pool and jacuzzi the only down side was the small and rather run down changing rooms. breakfast was a little disappointing for the money we paid ten pounds each and can honestly say have had better at much cheaper hotel chains. don't order scrabbled eggs my eggs where just slimy not a bit like scrambled eggs. next day ordered poached egg and bacon which I asked for it well cooked and it was much better. would return when all the work is finished as this was a bit of trouble walking around outside in winter and finding outside door to bar/restaurant locked on both mornings and needed to walk back around building to reception and get someone to go and open the door then walk all the way back again :(

Room Tip: upgrade your room well worth it.

My friend and I had a two night stay and spa package and we had a brilliant time at Crabwall Manor. Our room was lovely, really nicely decorated and with a huge bathroom. The beds were super comfy and it was lovely to stay in a room large enough for a sofa and chair so we could spend time in there and relax.
The spa itself was good with a nice pool, jacuzzi, steam room and sauna along with a gym, lounge and of course the treatment rooms. Included in our package was a 55 min treatment, for which we'd picked a massage when booking. When we arrived however we were given the option to split the treatment and have a back massage plus a facial which was a fantastic suggestion and we were so pleased it was offered, particularly as they were fully booked for the duration of our stay. The treatments were lovely, very relaxing and the therapists were excellent.
Throughout our stay we spent a considerable amount of time in the spa and although in general the facilities were very good - the changing rooms were clean and had everything you needed, the sauna and steam room were great - there were a couple of things that let it down. When we arrived we expected to either find robes in our room or to be able to collect some when we first arrived at the spa but instead we were told we could only have access to robes when we were having out treatment. This was a real shame as it would have been nice to have had a robe so that we could have sat in the spas lounge without having to get dressed again, or so that we could have walked to and from our rooms. Instead, in the evenings we had to get dressed to go back to our rooms to then get changed for dinner. Being able to sit in the lounge if we had robes would have been an extra bonus due to the lack of seating in the spa/pool area which had only 4 loungers and 4 chairs. At busy periods some people had nowhere to sit and had to put their towels on the floor while they used the facilities.
Our package also included our breakfast and evening meals and the food was delicious. The staff were great too, really helpful and looked after all our needs. It's worth a trip for the sticky toffee pudding alone!
Overall, we had a great experience and I would definitely go back. The friendly atmosphere and helpful staff made us feel very welcome and it wouldn't take very much work at all to iron out the little niggles we had with the spa.

Just returned from a 1 night spa break with my husband to celebrate our wedding anniversary. First impressions where ok but i wasn't 'wowed' and there was building work going on although this did not disturb us but would have liked to have been informed about this when we booked.
The spa was lovely and we had a lovely massage. Spent most of our day in the pool and gym. Meals included in the spa break where of very good quality although we both ordered the cod, only to be told there was only 1 left, so my husband then had to choose something else. He chose steak with a side order of vegetables, which only arrived after he had eaten half of his meal.
The staff where all lovely, very pleasant and helpful.
The room was very nice and decorated beautifully, but was let down with the bathroom. The shower screen did nothing and water ran down on to the floor and no bath mat was supplied and the bath was very slippy. I found this out when getting out of the shower, i slipped and fell causing me to bang my leg on the side of the bath leaving me with a huge bruise and in a lot of pain. Because of this was i unable to use the gym or the swimming pool the following morning. On check out i mentioned this to the receptionist but she wasn't overly concerned and just passed me the bill!
Overall we had a good relaxing stay but was let down by a few things as previously mentioned.
