The hotel is set in 38 acres and at night you have the first part of a stay- peace and quiet.
We had a two night break with dinner on the first night. On arrival we were warmly welcomed and given complimentary cake and sherry. Our room was spotless, although small in size (room 29)
Dinner was exceptional, with complimentary glass of champagne due to celebrating our anniversary. Very attentive staff and a thank you to the Manager for looking after us. This continued in the morning with personal service from the waitress, again a thank you goes to her.
Unfortunatly on the second evening a large dinner party had booked in and we felt unable to venture into the lounge to relax. The next morning our breakfast reminded us of a Budget hotel, self service and ignored by the staff. I think the staff thought that we were part of the overnight party!
I complained to the Manager that this is not the service that I expected. My concerns were taken on board. I appreciate that they are running a business, but ask not to forget those indvidual guests who are staying with you in the future.
I would recommend this hotel for a relaxing and peaceful break, just try and avoid the nights when large parties are booked in. Would I go again? Yes, but ask for a larger room and enquire if it is free from parties.More
