“A Glorious month of luxury”
Reviewed 29 July 2011

Because we attended a wedding in Cornwall, we extended our original booking at Nanplough for June/July. What a pleasure, it was home from home but with every luxury and comfort catered for. The swimming pool was wonderful, always spotless and those breakfasts! In fact all the food was wonderful, breakfasts were "tailormade" daily and Wendy's home made bread is to die for. The house is so beautiful now, retaining the graciousness of the Victorian age with all modern comforts. Well done Wendy

The room was wonderful--four poster bed--with great view ,and so relaxing. Breakfast was so great we didn't need lunch. Pool was wonderful. Everything clean, and tasteful, and so well laid out. But the main thing was that Wendy and her colleagues did everything to make us welcome and to make sure that we had everything--directions, reservations, laundry--that we needed. We lost a camera on the coast three miles away, but the locals got it back to us via Nanplough.
We travel a lot, and, along with bad ones, have had great B&B experiences in a dozen countries--but this was the best

We stayed at Nanplough in the Sunrise Room for one night to attend a function in the local area. The whole experience was outstanding and left us wanting to come back for a much longer stay. The area hardly needs a lengthy description - West Cornwall, simply beautiful country and the B&B near the Lizard is ideally placed to explore. The farmhouse has been lovingly renovated and the room was spacious, spotless and luxuriously fitted out complete with very comfy four poster bed. There was a lovely big bathroom with a proper bath and nice touches like a box of quality toiletries. The views are wonderful and the farm complex boasts a heated outdoor pool for the warmer months. Breakfast was just outstanding featuring home made bread, and preserves and the full Cornish complete with duck eggs and hog's pudding. The hospitality was amazing, Wendy and Andrew went out of their way to make us welcome, nothing was too much trouble.

If you are coming to Cornwall - stay here !

Just south of Helston and convenient for all the Lizard Peninsula, this b and b ( also with cottages for self catering) works to a very high standard to look after guests. Wendy is doing it on her own, with a limited number of guests for the sumptious breakfast - loads of fruit, cereals, as well as the Full Cornish!! A surprisingly quiet location, only 3 miles or so south of RAF Culdrose. We had the best of both worlds - a spacious apartment in Squirrels Drey with kitchen, sitting/dining, bedroom and bathroom - as well as the wonderful breakfast! Wendy's home-baked biscuits were a surprise treat on returning from a day's outing. The heated pool looked tempting but it was still a bit chilly air temperature in May. Very handy location for Mullion Cove, Lizard Point, Helford River (Glendurgan gardens etc) as well as Helston itself. Must be one of the best b and bs we've stayed in, including some wonderful ones in California.

We stayed in the main farm building on a bed and breakfast basis. Our room was large, beautifully decorated, spotlessly clean and with wonderful views over open countryside. The breakfast kept us going until the evening ... cereals, yogurts, a wide variety of fresh fruit and a huge cooked breakfast cooked to order. Wendy was the perfect hostess and we cannot praise her or the Nanplough enough. Would highly recommend the B & B to anyone wanting an "away from it all" break.

As others on this site have said the Nanaplough Farm & Country Cottages is a delightful farmhouse set in the beautiful Cornish countryside. The refurbishments carried out are not only extremely well done, they are totally in keeping with the character of the building and the surroundings. Simply stunning. We stumbled upon this place when colleagues were looking for business accommodation and believe me when I say this is the only accommodation I have ever come across, that actually lives up to it's reputation on this website. Excellent in all respects.
Wendy; our host is an absolute delight and nothing is too much trouble. I have now stayed here on two separate occasions and the quality and service has been nothing but superb each time.
In my humble opinio;n this is quite simply the best B&B I have ever stayed in.

Room Tip: All rooms are stunning.

I've just had the pleasure of staying a night at Nanplough and like other reviewers I wish it had been for a week. This elegant farm house has been recently rennovated to a very high standard. The furnishings are luscious and even include a four-poster bed, there are generous ensuite facilites and stunning views from the bedrooms and the dining room. Nanplough is Helston's best kept secret and for me its the only place to stay in West Cornwall. The farm house has undergone a tasteful upgrade throughout. There is much to see and enjoy close at hand with its games room, sheltered swimming pool, working livery stables and relaxing walks. Its surrounded by beautiful countryside and we were treated to an amazing display of yellow daffodils gracing the surrounding fields. Breakfast was delightful, everything you'd expect from the best hotels but all local produce and served in style by Wendy our host, for whom nothing seems to be too much trouble. The service was outstanding. The farm also boast four fashionably apppointed holiday cottages with one shortly to be developed with purpose designed disabled access and facilities.
