We stayed here for one night as part of a touring holiday.
Colin seemed to be the main "front of house" guy and couldn't do enough for us. The house itself is nicely situated near the water with nice views of the boats, swans and coastal railway line out front.

The room itself was very clean and well decorated but with one of those very small en-suites but everything worked fine. There are two pretty nice pubs very close nearby and your Croft room key will get you discount off your food in either one of them.

Ken provides the very fine fried breakfast and a nice selection of fresh fruit.
Overall a nice stay and on the "genteel" end of the B&B scale as opposed to a farmhouse type "no-nonsense" feel.

Room Tip: Views are out the front.

This is a fantastic place to spend your holidays. Colin and Kenny make you feel so welcome and cannot do enough to ensure you have a nice stay.
The breakfasts are really nice and the eggs are so fresh thanks to Lady GaGa and LuLu and the girls who are fed by Colin every morning after Breakfast. The rooms are spotlessly clean and are nicely furnished and you can come and go as you please.
There are 2 superb olde worlde pubs called the anchor inn at Cockwood and the ship inn only a short walk away from the croft aand Colin and Kenny have negotiated a 10% discount off the cost of food at these pubs which is a nice touch.
We stayed for 2 nights on the 5th and 6th August and thoughly enjoyed it. It is a nice relaxed atmosphere in a morning in the dining room with Colin entertaining us with his sense of humour and we enjoyed chatting to the Birketts.
Keep up the good work and we will see you next year.

Room Tip: The rooms are all different and described well on the crofts website. Colin Explains everything abou...

Many thanks for your kind review Steve,

It was also a pleasure meeting you both and glad that you enjoyed your stay with us.
It was lovely at breakfast seeing and hearing you chatting away with the Birketts, they did actually say that you are welcome to email contact them as they enjoyed your company also.

Thank you for taking time to explain the lay out for the Croft and I did appreciate the way in which you kept your room beautifully tidy it was such a pleasure to do my room service in such a well kept room, thank you.

Remember if you are passing by even and need a pit stop of any kind lol just to ring the bell or telephone me and you would always be very welcome.
Thank you once again Oh and Pete & Kath from Yorkshire also send their regards to you both - Such a lovely weekend of genuine friendly guests.

Makes our work all the more worthwhile and rewarding.
Best wishes Stay well safe and happy always

Hope the show went well too.

We stayed at The Croft 3rd - 6th Aug 2014, my family are regular visitors here & are fussy so and so's so I knew it would be good and had to investigate for myself !

Our room was lovely and spacious and clean, the hotel in general was clean and fresh, i hate grubby hotels as they really put you off.

Breakfast between 8 & 9am and there is so much choice, without meaning to sound too over enthusiastic its the best cooked (veggie) breakfast I've had in a hotel

Colin and Kenny are great hosts and very likeable and attentive.

Its a fab hotel in a fab location and if you don't enjoy your stay here you much be insane :)

Having met nearly all your family over the years it was so nice to finally meet the one and only "Julie" and Elton

So glad that you enjoyed your stay, also enjoying your Veggie breakfast!
You both also made my weekend, it was so nice also being invited over to the clubhouse to meet the others.

Hope all goes well with your radio show and remember plenty of Blondie tracks!!

The lads are well behind with their albums but I will do my best to get them back into the Blondie scene lol

If I do any mixes I will send them onto you.

Miss you both
Enjoy the rest of the summer and stay well safe and happy always

Remember if you do get hitched Ill try my best to take a day off and come and visit.

Best wishes

The Croft was chosen because it took dogs, was in walking distance of 2 pubs/restaurants and virtually beside a harbour. We got what we hoped for in the way of a very clean comfortable room and a very good full English. What we did not expect was the charm and humour of Colin who as 'front of house' is a born comedian. Once he had finished serving our breakfast, which was freshly and very well cooked by Ken, he entertained us with anecdotes in the life of a B &B owner and on one occasion I returned to our room still crying with laughter. Our dog, Duffy, was also made very welcome with her own breakfast sausage on a saucer for us to take back to her as she was not (quite rightly) allowed in the breakfast room. Lovely gardens, plenty of parking, harbour views and great fun in a lovely part of Devon. I can highly recommend that you visit and see for yourself

We have stayed here now six times and are never disappointed with the service which is second to none. The rooms are exceptionally clean and our room, room 3 had an excellent view across the harbour. Breakfast is first class and the ambience, built around Colin's charm and attentiveness is most comforting, if not unusual in most other hotels. The number of guests who have been there before are testimony to Colin and Ken’s hard work. Keep it up guys and see you next year.

It was so lovely to see you both again and also your mam and dad whom I took to the rail station this morning shortly after breakfast.
They are armed with half a dozen of Phyllis,s eggs so maybe they will go into your mams next cake she may bake.

Glad your trip home was a safe one and look forward to seeing you all again for your annual away days.
