I love "old stones in fields" as my friends put it. Walking out along the coast path to the site is a bonus, and the view from the hill where Bant's Carn sits is lovely. No wonder the later settlers wanted to have a village there. Very quiet, good info on notice boards.

This is a beautiful peaceful place with glorious views across to the other islands. I can understand why this was a chosen spot to settle. Now with its grassy slopes and ancient walls it is a place to sit and enjoy the quiet of this ancient place.
One of my favourite places on St Mary's.

Me and my partner cycled around St Marys for the day and visited a number of the burial chambers which was fantastic. A great way to explore the island and learn a bit more about the history of Scilly.

I'm not a history-geek, but this site is interesting, with informative notice-boards. But the main benefit (for non-historians) of going there isn't that you have to do a glorious coastal path to reach it, and once, you've done so, you'll want to keep on going.

A comfortable walk from Hugh Town along the coast passing Juliets restaurant on the way. Not at all commercialised.
