“Wonderful cottage, a bit tricky for those with mobility issues”

This is a beautiful cottage. It is a perfect location, right by the sea with the most wonderful views, and just a few minutes easy stroll to the town and the harbour. It is very well equipped and has a lovley courtyard garden. It was clean and a nice touch of leaving fresh flowers and a pint of milk made us feel very welcome.
In fairness I can't remember if this was mentioned in the description of the cottage, but it is a bit difficult for those with mobility issues. The stairs are steep and my elderly mother had difficulty managing them. There are 2 bedrooms on the first floor but no bathroom. So a night time trip to the loo involves going down the steep stairs, through the dining room and kitchen and to the downstairs loo, or up another flight of stairs and into the ensuite bathroom in the bedroom on the top floor. This is most certainly not a complaint, but it worth knowing.
The cottage was lovely and warm, with heating available on demand rather than on a timer. It was comforting to have a contact number, should we have an emergency.
I would definitely recommend this cottage, I already have, we had a wonderful time.

Helen, Thank you so much for all the kind remarks about No.10, I am so pleased you had a good time. I am sorry your Mother had a problem with the stairs and do hope it did not spoil her visit. Best wishes. Pamela.

“Beautiful Cottage on the Harbour”

We stayed at 10 The Strand for a week with another couple and were delighted with the cottage.
Everything was clean and tidy when we arrived, with the keys in the door (a Scilly Isles speciality).
The front room has a great view out on to the harbour and is cosy with an open fire. The dining room is spacious and the kitchen is well equipped.
There is a small courtyard at the back of the property with space for four to sit comfortably.
Downstairs has a large bathroom with adjacent toilet, both well equipped.
The front bedroom has two single beds and a beautiful view over the harbour. The middle bedroom is for the kids and has two smaller beds. Up a short flight of tight stairs is the attic room complete with double bed, toilet and shower. If you're a new couple, this may not be for you, the room is very intimate!
Booking was easy and everyone was very helpful. The location is perfect, a five minute walk from town and the harbour in one direction, same time to the golf buggy and cycle hire in the opposite direction.
Low ceilings will make life difficult for anyone over six feet tall (like myself) but that's pretty much the only issue we had with the accommodation.
Would highly recommend for time spent in St. Mary's.

Simon, Thank you so much for such a lovely review about No10 and your stay there. The cottage has been in our family for nearly sixty years and is dearly loved by four generations so we are always delighted if other visitors enjoy it as much as we do.So please you had a good holiday and do hope we can welcome you there again. “I couldn't have asked for more, so lovely, a home from home”

This holiday property is all I ever wanted when I thought about visiting Scilly. A Fisherman's Cottage that looks out onto the sea, 2 minutes walk from all the amenities and utterly charming inside.
We like to cook our own meals when we are away as we have more time to share as a family, the kitchen although small has everything you need including cookery books and scales. A courtyard garden is a super place to share a glass of wine and BBQ. The washing machine and tumble dryer made keeping us all clean easy with lots of time to enjoy the beautiful Islands. I am already booked for next year!
