“Good for a family event”
Reviewed 18 December 2012

Went last week for a family night out. The place wasn't overly busy but a reasonable crowd. Main courses were good, everyone enjoyed them. We ordered a variety of starters including 2 wedges and spicy chicken goujons, the chicken was very small on both orders, pity really as we've been plenty of times before and the small portion sizes have never been evident previously. Waiting staff seemed very busy, but very pleasant when at the table.
Will probably go back to try their 2 courses for £10 offer.

“Lovely for breakfast”
Reviewed 13 December 2012

I visit the Stables every now and then for breakfast on a Sunday morning. The location, building and breakfast itself are all lovely but the best thing is the bloke that does the serving. He is always very friendly and welcoming, a credit not only to the Stables but to the catering profession!!

“Good value”
Reviewed 12 November 2012

Good eating house in the village of Groomsport. Take a walk along Groomsport beach and then treat yourself to a meal here. We eat here regularly and are rarely disappointed. Do a £10 meal deal Monday to Thursday from 5pm to 7pm. Great value

“Birthday tea”
Reviewed 12 November 2012

Eleven off us went to celebrate my sons birthday. When we arrived at the front door which is near the toilets there was quite a strong smell of urine, off putting or what. We were showed to our table and drinks order taken. They do a special 2 courses for £10. When our order arrived it was ok the food looked like it had been pre made and then just heated up. The service was ok bit slow. One thing which was qute good my 5 year old grandson was with us and the waitress gave him a computer game to keep it amused. Other than that average.

“Yummy fajitas”
Reviewed 9 November 2012 via mobile

This used to be an old favourite of my families when the carmichaels originally owned it. It went off the boil for a while becoming overpriced with greasy/ unimaginative dishes. More recently we have been back and thoroughly enjoyed the food and the restaurant has been bustling. Also went to the Gordon suite for a 5oth birthday. Decor was nice and good place for a party venue with bar inside the suite & dance floor. Option to extent the room for bigger parties also. Hopefully this place goes from strength- bring back the crispy nutty chicken with a 'jug' if BBQ sauce!! My friends & fam still rav about it from over 15 years ago!!
