We stayed in this delightful chalet in early June- a perfect time to experience the area around Tamsweg. The chalet itself is in an excellent location and is comfortable, well equipped with great attention to detail, making for a very enjoyable holiday experience.
The cottage is very accessable to a variety of wonderful places locally and further afield.
Fabulous!

“Cosy home-from-home retreat in beautiful location”
Reviewed 16 November 2013 for a stay in December 2011

We stayed at this delightful cottage before heading up to Salzburg for the Christmas markets. The cottage is furnished in a contemporary style with a very well equipped kitchen although the number of restaurants in the vicinity meant that we didn't cook that much! The location is perfect and we enjoyed walking and cycling along the river path then coming back for a cosy evening. Hope to go back at some point as I think it would be a great summer location too.

“Delightful riverside retreat surrounded by the stunning scenery of the Austrian Alps.”

We took the family (inc 3 children under 10) and had a fantastic half term's skiing in 2012. This tradition chalet is located in a rural setting and the children loved waking-up each day and seeing the narrow-guage train pass down the valley.

There are some wonderful walks along the river and the property is in an enviable rural location in a lovely river-side location - perfect for getting away from it all in the Summer months and during the Winter it makes a great base for independent skiing - with some very family-friendly resorts located just a short drive away.

For those who like the great outdoors - this is a real find. The local village is close by but the property is not over-looked and makes a great base to explore this stunningly beautiful area of Austria.

“A quality, relaxing ski holiday retreat that caters for all the family.”
Reviewed 9 November 2013 for a stay in February 2013

We stayed here in February 2013 while taking a week's family ski holiday at nearby Krieschberg. The comfortable accommodation was well located for the ski resort, a range of good restaurants and supermarkets at nearby Tamsweg. Our three children loved the heated swimming pool (part outdoors) at Tamsweg which included a flume and toddlers pool. Very relaxing after 5 days on the slopes!!!! The ski school 'Mayer' at Kresichberg was very family orientated with quality instructors for all ages and abilities at very reasonable prices. The snow was plentiful and the resort catered for children with many activities provided.
The 'Riverside Retreat' is a quality family lodge with a lovely open planned living room with a well equipped kitchen, dining area, and comfortable lounge with a large bed settee. A further 2 bedrooms are on the first floor which the children claimed! The children were entertained with an outside play area and inside Sky TV and WIFI were available. Just a short walk away is a small train station which leads to Tamsweg and the ski resort (free with lift pass) offering an alternative to driving.
Other reviews in their guest book commented that the area was ideal for walking and cycling holidays in the spring and summer months and we are tempted!
We will definitely return to this great surprise package soon. Thanks for a very enjoyable stay!!!

Liked best: Location - next to the traffic free cycle path and 5 mins from the train stop.
Liked least: Had a couple days of rain but was able to go to the indoor pool at Tamsweg so didn't mater too much.
