A group of mates and I went on a Snowboarding/Skiing holiday for a week. Many problems arose with both bathrooms including showers and lights. After the week we got a phone call to say apparently some damage was caused to the fridge and the cooker, however two months later (after asking for it many times) they still have not sent photographic evidence to us showing what damage has been caused to the fridge. We were adamant that this was not us as we checked many times that the cooker was not on. Now a legal case has been set up as they want to charge us £2000 for the damage.

This was a shame as it was a very good holiday, and the hotel was ski in ski out! But I would not recommend this place to anyone.

Just returned from a lovely week in La Tania. Crystal Ski do a pretty accurate description of these self catering apartments. Could have done with a better clean, you only have to look in the corners of rooms, move furniture to see that they are not very well cleaned prior to new guests arriving. I had gone armed with anti bacterial wipes so this wasn't a problem for us. Would say to take a couple of tea towels and some dish clothes if you are intending on using the kitchen facilities. Its worth upgrading to a larger room to guarantee a bath and a slightly bigger living area, although the rooms were still very compact but for what time we spent in them, perfectly formed. View was out of this world and location was also very good. The local restaurants are very good, we didn't have a bad meal book booking essential in school hols. Courcheval on the other hand was very expensive and food was not so good in some places. All in all a very good family friendly resort with excellent skiing and adequate accommodation

Room Tip: We were on the eighth floor and had a lovely view and not much noise

Stayed here half term this year family of 3 and has given an apartment that slept 8 (so no complaints there).
Ski in ski out for sure excellent location.Very friendly staff.Great views right near gondola.
If your planning to eat out in La Tania prebook a good few days in advance as the restaurants get booked up at peek times.
Le pub Ski lodge is a great place live music, live sport and great food.
La Tania has some great runs in itself but easy access to all parts of the 3 valleys even made Val Thorens one day.
Have already booked for New Year to return to Grand Bois apartments great value for money.Highly recommended.

Stayed here in the first week of February with Crystal. We were in the smallest/cheapest type of apartments (think there are 3 sizes available). The bedroom was tiny (had to shove the beds as close to the wall as possible to be able to shut the door!) but the living area was great - pleasant and cosy, looked fairly recently refurbished and had a nice wooden 'chalet' feel to it: dining table facing the amazing view overlooking the mountains, sofa plus comfy chair, small but well-equipped kitchen (we cooked 5 nights out of 7 and had no issues). There was a little balcony too. The bathroom was also nice and modern. Because of the great living area, this size of apartment was more than fine for 2 people but I think would be a squeeze for the maximum occupancy of 4, where 2 people would be sleeping on the sofa bed in the living area.

The real benefit of these apartments was the location - as almost everyone has said in their reviews, it would be hard to beat. We could see the main La Tania gondola from our window and it was truly ski-in ski-out - a 1-minute walk (or few-second ski if you could be bothered to put your skis on) from the locker room to the gondola, then skiing back down the blue Folyeres piste to where it meets the green, practically to the door of the locker room. I cannot over-emphasise how handy this was! Also, La Tania itself is an attractive, compact little village; everything's within a few minutes' walk. We visited the bakery for fresh bread, croissants, etc most days (open at 7.30 am!) and also the little Sherpa supermarket, which has anything you could reasonably need - all within a few minutes of the apartment. There are also restaurants and a couple of bars, but the apartments are far enough away from the bars not to be too noisy at night.

All in all, the apartments were really good value and I hope to stay again in the future, as I don't think you could get a better location for a skiing holiday. Just be aware that they are budget apartments - you won't be getting luxury (not that you should expect it for the price!) - also, the cleaning is a little on the basic side (it was fine - but could be an issue for some people, depending on expectations. I got the feeling they just get a very quick once over on changeover day - nothing too intense!).

Returned today from a Crystal half term trip.

A busy week not very well handled by the airport... Worst ever airport experience at Grenoble, makes Chambrey look efficient.

Slopes actually not as busy as we thought but then again, The Three Valleys is massive. La Tania is a great starting point to go all over but we really like all Courcheval best... Suitable for all standards of skier. Definitely ski in but ski out only gets you 50m to the gondola. Not much nightlife in La Tania so better for those with younger children and oldies. Enough restaurants to keep us happy in the village and a great well stocked supermarket. The infamous La Taiga restaurant ran hot and cold, first meal was great with good service but the second meal was much less pleasing... We wouldn't have returned again after our second meal.

Check in was efficient and our room was ready for 2 ish. But we didn't see anyone on the desk after day one. This wasn't a problem as Crystal reps knocked on the door five out of seven nights to check we were all ok. They said they would be in reception every morning also but the one day we looked for them there was no one around.

We had a corner apartment in B which was quiet and looked over the nursery slopes. It looked like it had been recently refurbished and was quite smart but with small bedrooms. For us three the size was good but it was a six person apartment which would have been very crowded! Well equipped kitchen for evening meals and Breccy. Dishwasher, microwave and hob. Bring your own tabs, cleaning equipment and loo roll though. They expected us to clean when we left which wasn't what it said in the brochure. Lots of hot water and very warm apartment. TV had four UK channels for those nights you didn't want to go out. Sofa a bit of a squeeze for us three to watch it on though!

Overall we liked the apartment and La Tania. Would definitely recommend but don't go via Grenoble airport!

Room Tip: Block B is quieter but with a poorer view... But worth it!

Don't be put off, but a transfer coach dropped us at a rather depressing service bay, opposite the Taiga pub. A lift took us up to an equally uninspiring reception area, where the friendly staff worked patiently through the check-ins. Then it was time to view my 7th floor apartment. This was warm and very pleasant, with laminate flooring and lots of real wood furniture. The balcony looked out across the snow-covered trees, nursery area, shops, bars and restaurants. On New Year's Eve I was to stand there, whisky in hand, watching a brilliant fireworks display at midnight. The location is brilliant: every day I skied to and from the door, even though the season had only just started. The apartment was small, especially the tiny double bedroom, but fine for a couple (I wouldn't like to squeeze in an extra two on the bed settee, but I'm sure many do). The kitchen and shower-room were clean, well equipped and functional. My only minor gripes for the week were that a) there is no hanging space and little by way of shelving or drawers, so you do have to live out of your suitcase; b) there was a sporadic problem with the hot water supply, making the shower tepid a couple of times; c) the recycling arrangements were shambolic, as so often the case in French resorts; d) the lights in the ski locker room have to be manually switched on every few minutes, so you end up struggling in the dark much of the time; e) the bus service across to Meribel is much poorer than that to Courcheval, which wasn't clear from the details. Overall, however, I would definitely return.

Room Tip: The best views are on the higher floors, and this insulates you from the small amount of revellers-l...

Young couple on a post Xmas ski holiday. We were on a budget so weren't expecting a brilliant apartment but we can't speak highly enough of what we found! We had a newly refurbished apartment in block b, new sofas, new bathroom and very nice kitchen. Slept 7 people if you didn't mind bunk beds so will defiantly be returning with friends! Great location right in la Tania ski in ski out! Only slight down is you need to clean up, not a great hardship but take a cloth as none provided. Kitchen had everything you needed to cook an evening meal. Great holiday fantastic apartment!
