What a perfect day. Shaa was waiting at the tender boat pier for us and took us directly to our boat and off the the sandbank.

I really felt I was being introduced to this interesting city by trusted friends. Shaffaf and Hoo were open and welcoming while proudly showing us their city and encouraging us to sample the delights of their food at each market visited. Detailed explanations of the country's colourful history as well as political, cultural, religious and economic factors covered with every question answered as we stopped to explore the sights of Mosques, schools, significant buildings, parks, shops and future constructions. During the time at the cafe for refreshment, we were able to go into deeper discussion of future plans for the area and trade practices.
Thoroughly enjoyable and highly recommended.

It was lovely being met at Male airport by Ruth and Mash. As this was our second trip with Secret Paradise it was good to meet Ruth in person as we’ve exchanged so many emails in the past.
Following a successful trip in 2016, we had no hesitation in contacting SP to discuss our needs/best options/costings etc.
As we were keen to snorkel with Whale sharks and experience staying on an inhabited island , Ruth recommended a two island stay on Dhangethi & Dhigurah.
She listened to the fact that we like small boutique hotels and suggested one on each island and although different from one another, they both had individual character.
We spent the first few days winding down from the long flights on Dhangethi on a B&B basis and were able to snorkel off the beach and saw a good selection of fish. We also went on a locally arranged boat trip.

Dhigurah is a long narrow island which is only a 10 minute speed boat trip from Dhangethi. The Boutique Beach hotel has only 6 rooms and its focus in on Dive/snorkel trips which were included as part of the hotel package. You have a meeting each evening to discuss the activities for the next day including the early start times required on a couple of days.

The highlight of our trip was snorkelling with Whale Sharks/ Nurse sharks/ reef sharks; hawks head turtles; 4 different types or ray. Our boat Captain seemed to have a knack of finding Manta every day!
The volumes of fish we saw were amazing and far too numerous to attempt to record.

All of Ruth recommendations were brilliant and everything ran like clock work. It was a pleasant surprise when we arrived back at Male airport on route home to be met by Mash who guided us through to departures, making us feel like we were valued customers who’d been looked after from start to finish.

It was a great holiday and after Christmas we will start saving for our next trip.

Many Thanks to Ruth and everyone at Secret Paradise you are role models for what good customer service looks like.

We were on the North Male island hopping day trip with snorkelling, and it was an amazing day.

We tendered from our cruise boat and the secret paradise rep was there waiting for us from 0930 (tour not due to start until 1000). We were the only people on the tour, so 4 of us got into a taxi with the rep who took us to Hulamale to pick up our speed boat for the day.

Once on the speed boat we zipped off to our first snorkelling location of the morning - just off a private island, there’s a coral reef with all sorts of fish, but reef sharks as well. To be able to see these creatures relatively up close was amazing. After about 40 mins we moved the the second snorkelling point. Our guide didn’t rush us, and stayed for as long as we wanted.

Next up we had snorkelling just off an island that has a tuna factory on it, and uses the waste products to feed the surrounding fish, which results in schools of fish and stingrays/mantarays making an appearance.

We moved onto an island too look at the way the locals live, an island onto 1km long and 1km wife. And finally on to Himmafushi which is an island where they make all the souvenirs.

Lunch was included, and although the service was slow my tuna noodle dish tasted amazing (don’t get the sandwiches, it’s just regular bread and filling, no butter or crusts, no crisps). Snorkels & flippers were also included, as well as water. Contact with the Maldives company was also quick, efficient and easy. Payment was made on the day.

Because it was my parents wedding anniversary, our guide arranged for us to dolphin watch, and we came away having seen a pod of at least 10 dolphins, which topped off our day.

I can’t thank secret paradise and our guide enough for making our day in the Maldives a day to remember.

We had a Half-Day Walking Tour of Male last October 31, 2019. Our tour guide was Archie. The activity did not disappoint. We were guided by Archie who was very knowledgeable about the place and its culture. We were supposed to proceed to the island resort but we did not regret staying a day first to do this activity. Archie showed us the Parliament Building the Grand Friday Mosque, the Sultan Park, the Fruit and Vegetable Market, the Fish Port and the Fish Market. He also brought us to a local coffee shop and a roof top bar where we had a bird's eye view of Male. Thanks to Secret Paradise Tours and Archie for the experience.
