The personnel of the Kappara Hotel is extremely friendly and helpful. The rooms are spacious, with a modern bathroom. Unfortunately, we were placed at the room behind the reception desk, which is extremely noisy at nights and mornings, due to phoning night porters, returning guests and breakfast preparations in the morning. We would suggest to insulate this room to reduce the levels of noise from the reception at night and in the mornings. This would have enriched the confort of our stay, since we have experienced disturbed nights of sleep.

The hotel is clean, the rooms are spacious and comfortable, the view from the balconies over the poolarea is great, but the best thing is: The owners and all the staff are so helpful and friendly. They made me feel like home for my 10-day stay! Thanks for that!!!

I came across Hotel Kappara quite by accident. Whilst only two days into a two day trip of Malta my partner became severely unwell and was admitted to the Mater Dei Hospital. On a recommendation from hospital staff I checked into Kappara so I could be within walking distance from the hospital. I was previously staying in Valetta.

From the moment I checked in and had a chat to Frans, the General Manager and his sister Maria I felt very welcome and at home in what was a difficult time. I ended up staying a month and could not fault the hotel for what I needed. It was impeccably clean, the staff were friendly and always enquired after my parters progress and my own wellbeing. It was an easy walk to the hospital (or University if required), another easy downhill walk to Sliema and the waterfront. Buses stopped at the top of the street and there were the shops of San Gwann across the main road, a mere 5 minute walk. From the Mater Dei hospital interchange one could access most buses to all parts of the island. The in-house restaurant also served up lovely food on a set menu for a reasonable price and the pool was a welcome respite after a hot and dusty day.

Overall this is an excellent little hotel, lacking a little charm as its a new building in a residential suburb, but this is more then made up for by the fact its run by genuinely lovely people who will bend over backwards to be of help if needed. Many thanks again Frans, Maria, and all the staff.

Hotel Kappara was like a home away from home during my second week in Malta. Being family run, the service had a really personal touch - a very warm and welcoming atmosphere. In contrast to the Sliema based hotel during my first week, Hotel Kappara was very clean, modern and excellent value for money - 8 nights B&B cost me little over 400 euros!! There is a quiet pool area - a great spot to eat breakfast in the sunshine. I would highly recommend Hotel Kappara to anyone visiting Malta.

Vorrei essere riuscito a dare una valutazione su questo hotel dopo averlo provato, ma purtroppo, pur avendone avuto le intenzioni, supportate dalle valutazioni positive trovate qui, non ne sono stato in grado. Ho provato ripetutamente a prenotare 4 notti in Novembre, tramite il loro sito www.hotelkappara.com , dal quale ho avuto valutazione immediata della spesa ma..... NESSUNA RISPOSTA, MAI. L'email con la quale mi si rassicura di venir contattato da un loro collaboratore e' un "noreply@hotelkappara.com", segno che qualsiasi mi risposta non verrebbe mai letta. Dopo due solleciti e una settimana di attesa, ho prenotato in un altro hotel.
E sapete perche'? Perche' i prezzi comunicati sul loro sito sono BEN inferiori da quelli che fanno se prenotate tramite altro Travel Provider, segno evidente che il loro sito internet e' una bufala colossale, e che non sono in grado, o minimamente interessati, a darvi le stanze a quel prezzo.
Mi fermo qui, poiche' mi viene impedito di confermare o rettificare le positive impressioni avute da altri viaggiatori: di gentilezza, di professionalita', di affidabilita' e di serieta', in questo hotel io non ne ho avuto traccia. Che si vergognino.

I have recently returned from a weeks holiday, at the Hotel Kappara in Malta.

As some of the other reviews have mentioned, this is a fantastic hotel and of great value.
the exceptional high standards of cleanliness of this hotel, is a major credit to the very hard work that is done, on a daily basis.

Both the Manager Franz, and his sister Maria constantly strive to ensure that their guests are happy during their stay, and this is all done with the utmost professionalism and care at all times.

I have to say, that I thoroughly enjoyed all the fun and quick witty comments from Franz
(Hotel Manager), and Salvo (the Chef). when they had a chance to relax and talk with the guests

Nothing was too much trouble, no matter how much it affected their routines.

The location is quiet, and more reserved than the busier hotels in St Julians, and this was
just what I was looking for, when I booked the apartment.

Air conditioning worked well, which some of the other hotels received poor reviews for, and the breakfasts and meals that were cooked, were of the highest quality on a par with top restaurants.
Prices at the hotel bar were very affordable, and well within the budget of the main tourist areas.

I will definitely be keeping in touch, with Franz and Maria for my next holiday in Malta.

Would recommmend this hotel for all visitors, for the highest value and exceptional quality.

A great relaxing holday, with people I consider to be genuine friends. Recommended !

As a single female traveller this hotel was a great find. As others have written before, I found the staff were professional, solicitous and helpful and I felt completely at ease. Nothing was too much trouble for the friendly manager or his sister who run the hotel. I certainly recommend this small, beautifully kept, hotel to those who like a clean, quiet, peaceful stay.

The hotel is only a short bus ride away from Sliema but I walked down to the resort and back several times during my holiday (a good 45mins). Probably not the best idea as the temperature was in the high 30s (early July). However, it made the late afternoon swim in the hotel pool all the more refreshing when I returned.

I understand that the hotel is looking into the possibility of a shuttle service to Sliema, which I am sure would be warmly welcomed by guests.

Each night during my stay (second week in July) I was treated to a fabulous firework display, which I could clearly see from my balcony, as distant villages held their fiestas and parties.

I self catered (a branch of Lidl is ten mins walk away) and I also found great purchases from the local shops and greengrocers in the area.

The hospital, which you can see from the hotel, which is about a 15min walk away, is a great terminus for catching buses (all airconditioned) all over the island. From there, I took an early Sunday bus to Marsalokk market - a great place for food and holiday souvenirs. I also caught bus from there to Cirkewwa to catch the ferry to Gozo for a visit. Bus fares were reasonable and made travelling the island very easy and convenient so I had no need for a car.

I have already recommended the hotel to several of my friends and wouldn't hesitate to stay there again.
