My husband and I spent a wonderful, relaxing, sun-filled week at Bequia Beach Hotel. From the moment we arrived on the island to the moment we left the staff at BBH took amazing care of us and made sure our holiday was perfect. The night we arrived we were greeted with rum punch and escorted to our lovely beach front suite. We were exhausted from a long day of travel and looked forward to a quiet night and some Lobster (it was Saturday, which is Lobster night!). To our surprise there was an owner/management welcome cocktail hour for the guests, which was lovely and set the tone for the whole stay!
The hotel is very beautiful, the grounds are peaceful and the room was kept spotless by the great cleaning staff. Friendship Bay, where the hotel sits, is a public beach but it felt like our own private beach many times. We did visit at the start of the slower season so the island over all was pretty quiet and low key and that was exactly the vibe we were looking for. Peter at the bar and Shea by the pool were so friendly and made sure we had anything we needed each day and night.
I highly recommend the beachfront suite, our room was on the ground floor which meant we could open up the slider and be on the beach in literally 10 steps anytime we wanted too....My husband and I spent a wonderful, relaxing, sun-filled week at Bequia Beach Hotel. We dined most nights at the hotel and enjoyed the breakfast that was included in the room rate each morning. By day 2 the breakfast staff knew we liked cappuccinos with our breakfast. The little details at BBH really put it over the top like the large collection of books guests can choose from (many left by other guests for future guests to enjoy) and the steel drum band that played music by the pool one day.
Make sure you visit Lower Bay, Port Elizabeth and Princess Margaret beach during your stay, the staff can easily arrange a taxi with a set fare or you can walk like we did one day. Eat at Jack's beach bar - the fried chicken is to die for! Thank you to all the staff at BBH for making our stay so memorable. We hope to be back in the future - Paul and HeatherMore
