On the spur of the moment I decided to head for the Sunshine Coast for a mini break and ended up at the Noosa Hinterland Resort, and what a great place it turned out to be. The property is gorgeous, set amongst serene bushland with pet chicken roaming free around the place, a couple of friendly cats and abundant birdlife in the trees. The pool is heated and private and surrounded by lovely gardens. The room was wonderful with a comfortable bed, excellent entertainment facilities and the breakfast, which is included in the price, represented excellent value for money considering the tea and coffee facilities include a variety of flavoured teas and a proper coffee capsule machine. Finally, Russ (the owner) could not have been more helpful and friendly. I'd definitely stay here again and I highly recommend it to visitors to the area who want something a little off the beaten track which is still only 10-15 minutes from Noosaville, Tewantin and Noosa itself. 5 stars.
We have just left the Noosa Hinterland Retreat and it's been wonderful.
Russ was very welcoming on arrival and interested in where we had been and what are plans were. The room was pristine and inviting when we entered.
It is obvious that they are well travelled with the decor and items in the studio ranging from England to Greece to Africa and so on! Very inclusive and cultural.
They have a good selection of movies on the tv and we have enjoyed watching them in the evening. I would take advantage of the pizza restaurant down the road called Orange in Sunrise which offers home delivery for a lazy night in.
The kitchen is well equipped with a microwave, kettle and hot plate. All the cutlery and utensils you would need during your stay.
The bathroom is very modern and provided with branded shampoo and conditioner! They do use rain water though so the water doesn't get very hot and you have to be careful with the amount you use.
We used the washing machine which was extremely useful and we are very grateful for that!
The retreat has it owns chickens which is lovely to see them walk around freely. We've been very lucky to have some of their freshly laid eggs for breakfast. The fridge is stocked well with juice, milk, bread, yogurts and butter! And a complimentary box of choccies were on the bed as a nice touch! Very welcoming!
They even provide robes with slippers!!
The only problem I've had personally is with my allergies. I think due to the studio being pet friendly there may be dog hair lying around which set me off everyday sneezing and wheezing. This is no fault of the owners as I was well aware of pets being allowed to stay but just wanted to warn others with pet allergies!
Overall we thoroughly enjoyed our stay the whole house is beautiful. Even though we didn't get time to use the pool it did look very inviting and has a very tropical vibe to it.
I and two friends stayed here during a trip along the east coast as a luxury pit stop, and we were not disappointed!
The retreat was gorgeous, very comfortable for 3 and the hosts were brilliant and very accompanying - we were only sad we couldn't stay longer! Hopefully we'll be back when we're next in Australia and would definitely recommend
I was so so lucky to be able to enjoy a night of complete bliss as a "mother daughter indulgence getaway" in November at this gorgeous place. Everything about our stay was truly stunning thanks to the amazing hospitality, creative flair, thoughtfulness and generosity of these two lovely hosts. Thankyou so much, we truly loved every minute of our stay.
