“A wonderful retreat”
Reviewed 26 August 2011

Ann and Pascal have created a wonderful vision of new and old, merging impeccable modern style with the history of an old French farmhouse. There are only three rooms but the property has features you would expect in much larger one such as a sauna, exercise room and a perfect swimming pool. I would go back just for her freshly baked financiers at breakfast. They care and it shows. If you are planning to be in this area this is the place you want to stay at.

5 Lasserre Resort is one of Caroline's best finds ever. Its a small place in the Bordeaux Area run by a very nice couple, Ana and Pascal Bihler. Pascal, formerly a financial controller and Ana a former Antiques dealer. Their combined their talents and convert this 17th century Vineyard house into one of the finest B&B's we have ever seen. Ana also plans to open an art gallery on the premises. Check out the video we made of the place at http://youtu.be/64LbZEfYQ7A
.

Room Tip: There are only two rooms and one suite and all are excellent.

Ana and Pascal are the perfect couple for their luxury bed and breakfast near St. Emilion, France. They are very pleasant, listen to their clients and make suggestions appropriate for their guests' desires on what to see and experience in this region.

The rooms are exquisite in every sense of the word. The views are stunning from their property above the region and the spires of the church in St. Emilion can be seen across the valley. . You can stay, enjoy the environment and swim in the lap reflecting pool, sit in the Jacuzzi, and work out in their gym, have a sauna and/or massage followed by relaxing in a special relaxing room!

The full breakfast in the morning is scheduled at the guest's convenience. Most of the fruit is grown on their property.
No details are left undone. The house is a mixture of antiques and contemporary furnishings. The quality of the fixtures and workmanship is impeccable. Rooms are very comfortable and include air conditioning (quiet) refrigerator, coffee maker, wall safe, CD, IPOD docking station and a gorgeous bathroom. Bedding is beautiful The three rooms each have a private entrance.
Plans are in the works for an art gallery and second apartment.
Are only disappointment is not being able to stay longer but we will be back!

My husband and I spent three nights at 5 Lasserra, it was wonderful. The view from the house is stunning and the location is quiet and peaceful. Rooms were large, clean and modern mixed with antiques (perfectly executed). This is a five star bed&breakfast - a hidden gem in the Bordeaux/St. Emilion area. It is about a 15 min. easy drive to St. Emilion.

Each morning we woke up to a breakfast with an array of cheeses, breads/pastries, cherries (from their own garden) and homemade jams. Ana made eggs to order and made pancakes (unbelievable!) for my non-egg eating husband. In the evening, we had our wine and cheese by the pool and looked out at the countryside (you'll see Saint Emilion in the distance).

Ana and Pascal are very kind hosts and made our stay extra special. Ana will be opening an art gallary soon! They provided us with recommendations for resturants, made reservations at wine tastings and talked to us about the Dordogne region (our next stop).

We highly recommend 5 Lasserre !

We cannot wait to go back to 5 Lasserre! We were away in Europe for 3 weeks and our fondest memory is of our stay in beautiful Moulon near Saint Emilion. Our warm and friendly hosts, Anna and Pascal were very welcoming and so informative regarding local sight-seeing and restaurants.
Our accommodation was in a newly renovated, stone farmhouse. We were a group of two couples -the rooms are beautifully decorated with magnificient antiques, lovely furnishings and modern appliances. Each room has a comfortable lounge area with TV and sound system, and the bathrooms are large and well appointed. The beds were really, really comfortable! There is a beautiful infinity pool that overlooks the amazing view-just heaven!
The breakfasts served every morning were delicious with a beautiful selection of cold meats, smoked salmon, crusty bread rolls, fresh pastries, apple pancakes, great coffee and a real pot of tea.
It is in a fantastic location with stunning views of the French countryside-a short drive to Saint Emilion which is a wonderul day trip. The picturesque town of Moulon is an easy walk away and we loved buying our cheese, bread and pate at the local charcuterie, then sitting outside the cafe with a cold beer.
We were there for 3 days but we wished we had stayed for 3 weeks!!!

Room Tip: All the rooms are wonderful

5 Lassere is located in the small hillside village of Moulon, about a 15 minute easy drive from St Emilion. The property was an old farm which has now been almost completely renovated by the new owners, Ana and Pascal. They have taken great care to preserve the history and character of the old buildings yet have integrated many contemporary amenities and design features into the property, making it quite lovely, upscale and comfortable. Our oversized immaculate room had a large glass door opening out onto a patio with a spectacular view of the valley below and St Emilion in the distance. Ana and Pascal have almost completed fitness and spa rooms and there is an infinity pool that overlooks the view. The hosts serve a delicious breakfast that includes eggs cooked to order if you so desire. We were lucky enough to enjoy fresh cherries picked from their own trees that morning. Ana and Pascal are maintaining the peaceful environment of the location and are wonderful hosts.
