“Quintessentially French village house”
Reviewed 3 June 2015 for a stay in May 2015

No.15 Grand Rue (which is definitely not a 'big' road, containing less than 20 houses!) is a quirky, very French house which dates back almost 200 years in origin. The accommodation is perfectly adapted for holidays and well-equipped with all the essentials and many extras, including beach games and the all-important boules sets, picnic chairs, etc. Wi-fi is also included, as well as extensive information regarding local amenities and places to visit.
We thoroughly enjoyed our week's stay (2 couples celebrating a birthday and wedding anniversaries) and would wholeheartedly recommend a stay in this lovely house and super little village. We will definitely return to this fascinating and lovely area of France….

“A Great Stay In Languedoc”
Reviewed 21 May 2015 for a stay in May 2015

The directions from the airport were spot on. Opening up the house was very straightforward too. The house was fresh, clean and welcoming, especially the wine on arrival! We stopped at the big Casino supermarket on the way in (maybe take a couple of shopping bags) but after that used the bakers for breakfasts and the local supermarket for anything else. They’re a short stroll away and provide helpful and friendly service, helping us with our French too!
The house is comfortable and well equipped, we got the water, gas and electric on easily and settled in very quickly. It was great to sit on the balcony, soak up the quiet and peaceful atmosphere and smell the honeysuckle on the gentle breeze. The beds are comfortable too!
After spending the first day around Colombiers we visited Carcassone, Beziers, Agde, Roquebrun, Minerve, Capestang, Montady, Agde and the beach at Marseilan. All of these within an hour’s drive, many much less. We also went to Sete by train, leaving the car parked in Beziers.
We really enjoyed our stay and hope to come back as we already have a list of things to do and places to visit. We were really impressed by not just the house and also the service provided by the owners. Thanks from all of us.

“Excellent location, excellent value for relatively limited facilities”

Very, very French - the narrow street and lots of open windows and doors means everyone hears everyone else's conversations unless the weather turns chilly or the rain falls heavily. However, although somewhat compact and with limited facilities the accommodation presents excellent value for money. An excellent location for exploring this delightful part of France - walk a couple of hours along the canal to the next village (away from Beziers) - you will see great views across the vineyards and come to the Vinauberge Bar a Tapas for a good value wine tasting, and then on to taste the beer at the local micro-brewery.

“Old apartment, clean, quiet, and lots of character.”

We had to turn on the electricity, water, and gas when we arrived but the instructions were clear and this took a lot less time than we expected. We didn't need to see anybody before entering as the key was in a box at the door. The neighbourhood is unlike anything we have seen before with narrow streets and older buildings. Very special and unique. We enjoyed the complimentary wine that was left on the table. We had everything we needed at a good price.

“lovely location-excellent value-characterful”

We stayed for 5 nights in late Sept/Oct-two couples-early 60's
The house is very characterful in a lovely location about 200 yards from the Canal du Midi. There are 2 bakers and a general store close by and 3/4 restaurants /bars down on the canal..We parked the car by the canal everynight only loading/unloading the car outside the property as the steet is narrow but with virtually no traffic
The property is on two levels with bedrooms and bathrooms on both levels and the kitchen/living space upstairs with a view over the steet from a nice balcony.
It is well equipped[but bring toilet rolls] for self catering and the beds are surprisingly confortable-there is also a third bedroom leading off the top floor bedroom..
Overall it makes a great location for touring the Languedoc-one tip-there is a great market am in Agde on Thursdays-you can eat 6 oysters for 5 euros!

“Quaint little place with everything you need”
Reviewed 2 October 2012 for a stay in September 2012

We stayed four nights. The owners were easy to deal with. The house was quirky enough to be charming. Beds were comfortable. Two great bakeries near by and a nice budget friendly waterside restaurant five minutes away (Pom Canelle?) Lovely to be in a sleepy village but easy access to Minerve, Pezanas, the Med and many other sites (car required!)
Excellent value.
