After a very swift check-in procedure, they delivered me my room, even though it was only 9 O'clock. The room was astonishing, nothing less! Honestly I booked this hotel for its very good price and did expect anything but such a room - suite actually. One bedroom, one living room, a flat screen TV in each one of them. A nice balcony. Good decoration, bright colors. Great bathroom. The whole room was spotless. The bed was super comfortable. There is nothing else you would need while travelling for business. Oh yes, you need a good free wireless connection; no problem! Available!

I am not sure if I had an unexpected upgrade or all their rooms are like that.

Breakfast is very good as well. The staff were nice and helpful. The lobby is well-decorated and clean.

This hotel only has three stars; but I have stayed in so many so-called five stars which rooms are not even half good.

I will not stay anywhere else in Muscat next time.

Stayed at the property for 4 nights in February.Had very bad experience at immigration point at the airport because of long queue(Oman sultanate must do something about it otherwise they will loose business from tourists).
Reached hotel at 2 a.m. and my son(8 year) was already asleep. With pleasant surprise we received our room key in 5 minutes and got amazed by the size of the room.Large bed, extra bed, nice cupboards, spacious well stocked bathroom, minibar, and an extra sitting room to watch TV or playing games or reading without disturbing other family members.Lovely.
Breakfast spread was also very good with all types of fruits, dry fruits, sweets, hot and cold menus.Ready to start the with a bang.
Nice taxi service at reasonable rate.Multiple good restaurants nearby. There is a big shopping mall situated just in the next building.
Very helpful and smiling staff who explained the city and excursion options in details.
They have a bar but do not serve alcohol.Alcohol is served in only few 5 star hotels. This property is no 5 star and they do not have a swimming pool or kid's corner.
We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel and will come back again.

Room Tip: Take deluxe or executive room.

This hotel has everything you could want...except a bar. Neighborhood is ok. Surprisingly nice hotel for 30 OMR per night. They upgraded me to a nice suite at no charge. Lots to see and do in the area.

We stayed here for two nights upon our arrival to Oman and booked another night when we got back to Muscat to cath our onward flight the next morning. The Tulip Inn caters mostly to a business audience, but if you show up for breakfast in Jeans and a short sleeved shirt, you will feel okay. The breafast selection, by the way, is great, although clearly aimed towards Arab guests.

We got upgraded both times to a pretty huge executive suite on the 7th floor for a rate of 50 Omani Rials per night including breakfast. The rooms featured 2 SAT TV flatscreens each, a large bathroom, great beds, a sitting area, minibar (no alcohol). The hotel is tucked away in a small side street from Khuwair st, but still pretty easy to find. Free parking in the rear of the building. At least a dozen restaurants within 1 km, supermarkets, ATMs, fuel station all close by. 20 min drive from or to the airport. Staff is friendly and attentive.

WiFi is complementary, but will work only for one device at a time. AC was a little bit loud. The furniture and the design of the Lobby and breakfast area may appear kitschy to European eyes, but it will be hard to beat the value for money that this place provides in the rather expensive upmarket Muscat hotel segment. truly recommended!

In line with other reviews, space gets top marks here. Perfect for family (a TV in each room), or for entertaining guests.

But for a business traveller, what matters is efficient use of space. I need convenient and serviceable plug points, prompt housekeeping, and all amenities located within reach. Reality check: There's not a single power point near the study table in either room! You can't make tea without unplugging the laptop, and that sucks! The plug points are worn, and tend to spark. Bad for electronics!

There is but one telephone in the entire suite (not even in the bathroom) at the extreme end of the block. Even the hotel directory is in the other room. The speed dial settings on the phone are all wrong; eg. you dial housekeeping, it connects to the frontdesk! The hotel directory is replete with errors, eg. there's one extension for room service in the beginning, and another further in. The room service menu does not mention the extension, so it's quite an adventure ordering food first time round!

Lousy response from the front desk, one reason may be that they're understaffed. You got to keep asking them for assistance; they do not call back with an answer. Toiletries in the bathroom are poor quality, the selector between shower and tap is broken. A complementary cookie basket would be well appreciated.

I went to the airport everyday of my stay (work), but not a single day did i get the hotel shuttle; even when i asked to be intimated the next shuttle timing. The gent at the desk did not bother informing me when the departure time was rescheduled.

I'd be tempted to try the Ibis next time, not far from here; cannot shift now, since I've circulated my address to clients.

Front desk staff rendered excellent service and they are very friendly and helpful. Hotel location is great. It is near KFC, Chinese restaurant, Food centre, Hyper mart, Red tag, etc
Bonus: An exclusive lounge for those staying on the executive level 7.

Chose Tulip Inn bases on price and good reviews; was upgraded to suite and found staff very helpful and polite. Had no problems getting a taxi from the hotel. Not the most scenic location, but just right next door to a hypermarket and only a 10 minute taxi ride to beach. Very pleased--would definitely stay again.
