Tour Choice Hotel for us for our 1st 2 Omani nights, and really it wasn't too bad. Not a Hotel we would want to spend a weeks holiday at, given it was surrounded by the Ministerial & Embassies. Given it was the local winter, we didn't see the pool as an option...but it was very nice.
We had a MONSTER room...at least 5.5m x 8.5m. Sparsely furnished, but comfy bed and pillows. TV was about 3m away from the bed end. Our view was over the mosque...and we had fresh air. The bathroom was as small as the room was large..I don't get that!! The in bath shower was hot, but water poured out the side of the swivel glass door and went everywhere.
Towels and santitary products were pretty good. The road noise is constant here, as it is set on a slip road next to a major 6 lane highway, where 120ph speeds are considered slow.
The food was very good, and we were nicely treated by a lovely waitperson from the Phillipines.Good choice of foods, fresh and tasty.
Probably more of a Business hotel...but a nice start to Oman.

Room Tip: If road noise bothers you, request a room furthest away.

We had a very large room with all the facilities one could want. The bed was most comfortable. Our only complaint was that the room was rather dark, it could do with some additional lighting. The staff were superb, very helpful and professional. The rooftop swimming pool was excellent and a great place to unwind. There is little of note close to the hotel, so one needs to take taxis to the various attractions. We found the taxi drivers very professional, safe and friendly.

I've stayed in most of Muscat's hotels (3 star to 5 star) over the last 5 years (business and personal) - there are several hotels that I'd describe as good (the Chedi, the Shangri-La, Al Bustan and the Grand Hyatt) but they are at the top-end, what Muscat has lacked has been a decent choice of mid-priced hotels, then came the Park Inn, the Raddisson, Best Western and the City Season. I've now stayed at all 4: the Park Inn and Raddisson are OK, the Best Western is surprisingly good for what it is but the City Season could and should be a lot better. To start with why is the underground parking in Basement 2 where you have to walk up a flight of stairs with your luggage before reaching an elevator? (there was no sign for valet parking). When I finally entered the lobby the first thing I noticed was the smell, it wasn't particularly unpleasant but it wasn't pleasing either - I just think a good hotel should smell nice (all the good hotels I mention above smell nice). Check-in was OK but the reception area just looks a little worn. In fairness the bell boy was quick to come to our assistance to take our luggage to the room. The room we were given was average, again the smell wasn't very pleasing, the condition of the room was also a little tired and the lighting and layout wasn't great, however the most serious complaint was the noise from the Hotels AC units outside - this Hotel, which is not old, has not been well constructed - it's quite evident that little consideration has been given to sound reduction. I complained and was promptly upgraded to the 5th floor and away from the AC units, however, the noise from the busy road outside was almost as bad as the AC units! The beds were comfortable enough although the pillows were all too hard. Breakfast was average, not great although the service was quite good. In summary I think whoever designed and built this Hotel need a good kick (to resolve the acoustic problem retrospectively will be expensive), the manager (not the staff) also needs to be replaced with someone who is capable of making this place a lot better than it is.

I recently stayed at this hotel with work. I could not fault it. Having been shown to a room which smelt very smokey, I was quickly given another one. The staff were extremely friendly and I'd like to make special mention of Lismar who was very helpful with tips on where to go and always had a smile!! The food was amazing and exquisitly displayed. The sweets especially looked like a work of art!! Everything looked and tasted freshly prepared. The roof top pool was just perfect!! Couldn't fault it!

Large, Impressive lobby welcomes you as you enter..the service is friendly without being over the top. The rooms are spacious, comfortable to move around and bed and sleep quality superb. The hotel has a couple of fabulous restaurants worth visiting and a large supermarket next door - should you desire to do some shopping. Be it business or private visit, a good place to stay in Muscat.

Room Tip: Take the rooms away from the highway..
