We spent Christmas at the Intercontinental. The first thing that catches your eye is the giant Christmas tree in the lobby. It must have been about 10 meters high. Wreaths were hung on all the floors and Christmas music was playing in the lifts. Are we really in the Middle East? Every room got a complimentary Yule log cake on the 24th, which was delicious. Christmas was low key and all of the guests were pretty mellow and friendly - which was a nice treat. There are plenty of coffee shops within walking distance - two Starbucks in fact. Hardly anyone goes to the beach so it's especially nice to go there. The gym was adequate and the room was fine - quiet, comfy, clean. I would love to go back.
