Spent a weekend in this hotel, beachfront. It was supposed to be one of the best in Muscat, capital of Oman.
The surpise came when we were given a room facing on the back. There is a club at street level, in the parking area. Evindently it closes around 2 or 3 am. People shouting in front of the door. Cars and motorcycle running engine at maximum without any control or respect for you sleeping some meters above. No one in the hotel could care less about that, leaving you and your family to be woken up in the middle of the night. Result, holiday ruined. if you're looking for a place to stay in otherwise beautiful Oman, look somewhere else.

Nice hotel, Tuscany Italian Restaurant is very good, excellent quality of food with good service and attention to detail. Got only a little issue with red lipstick on my glass of champagne which make a little disappointment as I realized after the first glass. Waiter apologized and brought me new full glass complimentary...
The worst was at the pool. Arrived there and had to wait 20min to have someone asking for a drink and we had to stop them to order if not they do not pay attention. We got the order, had a swim and decided to order at the pool bar in the water. At time of ordering cocktails, we were told that as per policy we have to order food as well if not we cannot get alcoholics drinks... What kind of service is that when guests do not have anymore choice of ordering what they want. In resume, you are forced to order food if you want to drink... Guest is not deciding anymore!! Anyway, to not argue we ordered fries that were delivered to our seats and we ate them cold and cocktails took 3 people to have them ready.
By end of the day, we asked for the check and the same waiter did not follow up so we had to wait 20min more and decided to go to pay at the bar and when we saw him and he was doing nothing, we told him he does not pay attention to his guests, but he smiled and left...
Front door staff does not greet, or even stay seated when you come inn the hotel.
Anyhow, you are expecting more when you come on a hotel of this standard, at least the employee could make you feel welcome and wanted as a guest, but it is not the case. What a 5 star service on a 5 star rate...

The lobby of the hotel is nice and spacious, check in is usually slow.
The hotel is horizontal so if you get a room at either end expect to walk a lot during your stay.
There are a couple of bars and restaurants which are ok
The pool and beach area are nice and relaxing, no water activities though at the beach
The 3rd floor has smoking rooms.
I think the rooms need to be revamped ASAP, they look and feel like they are from the 80s. There are no lights except for the bedside lamps and one on the desk.
Most rooms have a really nice view of the coast and the pool area
