We booked the Al Husn - adults only 5 star, the website is not easy to work out the different hotels unless you pay close attention.

Hotel very good, it does not get 5 stars as it is a big American style hotel but does a very good job at being a luxury 5 start hotel. We have stayed at the Chedi twice and thought we should have a change, the Chedi is more stylish but more expensive.

We arrived at 10am from a long flight from London and our room was ready, very impressive, we booked a One bedroom suite, which was much better than the photos on the website and was huge, we did not need such a big room but it was lovely, I would not splash out next time, if we came back. The sea view rooms do not get evening sun which is a shame.

The hotel offers complimentary breakfast which is very good, complimentary afternoon tea and complimentary drinks and canapés ( 4 tiny canapés between 2 people so do no think you can skip dinner ). This brings everybody out for their freebies and generates a bit of buzz and atmosphere , good for people watching etc. We are in our early 50's and felt young, my husband thought he had taken a wrong turn and ended up on a cruise ship. It appears the well heeled elderly come to this hotel for the winter months - good for them!

it starts wrong from the beginning...I had hard time to reserve a table in Al Tanoor restaurant for Seafood night buffet in order to celebrate my husband birthday.
When we arrived, primo no one knows about our reservation secondo they give us a table next to the cooking station...what a romantic dinner!!! after we order Cocktail with bottle of water it never come after reminding the waiter 2 times so he bring us different order...the service is sooooo poor and staff line are not trained...anyway we had very bad expensive experience. thank you Shangri la luxurious hotel

This resort is great and it is multi section for family, work ,and for adults.Every morning you can go to eat in or out.One really nice thing is that you can take a nice walk and explore a little.A good feature is that the beach is amazing!!!!!In the ocean the water is clear and on one side you can go kayaking and snorkeling to see outstanding fish.A really good thing is that they have a lot of facilities like a play place for kids , a sports club ,and an area where you can see the culture on there national day.You can also go scuba diving. In the resort the staff is kind and if you stay you get to earn points which you can use for food or another stay and every meal is included(foods great)you can also see turtle hatch if you come at the right time. And the swimming pools were so big and there is also a lazy river which takes you all around the resort. This is why i love the resort.Best stay!!!The rooms are big and really clean too.

We stayed here for one night am wished w3 stayed longer. Fantastic for families. There is a child pool under cover a main pool. Which has has a bar next to it. A lazy river connecting you to the other hotels and the beach. Fab location and restaurants a little pricey but tasty

We went to book the Asia restaurant which is only open on a Friday and Saturday at the Barr Al Jissah resort, where we were staying. We were informed that the restaurant was booked and the only availability was at 21:30. We booked for that time. When we arrived the restaurant was almost empty and upon ordering we were told there were no spring rolls left! We ordered our other starters and mains to only find that the duck could only come with rice as there were no pancakes left. We said OK only for the waitress to return to say there was no duck left!!! We could order something else. We left without having any food. Extremely poor restaurant and service.
