We spent a few hours at this ultra-modern, sparkling clean winery estate. Lovely grounds and very interesting tour of the winery, 12euros. Tour not for those who have difficulty with stairs. Lunch was very good, though not inexpensive. Art on grounds well worth the visit.

Chateau La Coste is a vineyard with an excellent, welcoming tasting room, but that is only the beginning. It is a fantastic out-door museum of modern art and architecture, with a three kilometer trail winding among the works, each situated in a spot for which it was specifically designed. Jean Nouvel, Frank Gehry, Tadeo Ando, Andy Goldsworthy, Paul Matisse, Louise Bourgeoise,...the list goes on and on. And do not miss the fantastic café -a work of art of a building that provided one of the nicest lunches we have had anywhere in Provence. Only about 10 miles from Aix,

This was really a great experience, a friend of a friend works at the chateau. The wine was excellent, we all bought three bottles and drank many of them later that night on a friend's terrace overlooking the Luberon valley. Really beautiful provençal countryside. The real draw here though is the modern architecture - they have stuff by Richard Serra, Frank Gehry, Tadao Ando, among others. Also Michael Stipe (yes that Michael Stipe). Definitely worth a short trip if you're interested in modern architecture and/or wine, a nice excursion into the countryside of Provence

Heard about this place at the Richard Rogers Retrospective in London. Then couldn't track it down. Then staying with friends in Lourmarin they said they've booked somewhere special for lunch and a walk, and this was it.
Wonderful setting. Stunning Tadao Ando building. A two hours want through the vineyards took in work by Tunga, Andy Goldsworthy, more Tadao Ando, Alexander Calder and Louise Bourgeois and other pepper the trail, then back via the fabulous Frank Gehry auditorium for a lovely lunch.
And don't miss drinking the wine as well as watching it grow.

Good place to see some comtempory art pieces with nature as backcloth to it all. Family friendly but probably a bit pricey to actually eat on site, we were a party of 4 adults and 3 teenagers. Easy to find, we had a pic nic in a really good spot nearby as pic nics not welcome but that wasn't an issue and then spent the rest of the afternoon exploring the sculpture garden partly in vineyard and partly in adjacent forest. The teenagers loved the whole experience and we ended up having a nice glass of wine in the spendid café designed by Tadao Ando and going home with a selection of rosé wine from the chai which we'll be going back to visit as visiting both the sculpture garden and the chai seemed a bit much.
An outing enjoyed by all.
Thanks to the owner and team.
