GITE DU PARADICE

This spacious, comfortable, and attractive accommodation remains high on the list of places to which we will return.

We enjoyed the elegant tile kitchen or the cozy living room. Outside the sunlight on splendid landscape or at the picnic table where we were content to sit and read. Within easy driving distance we went to the Pyrenees, to Toulouse, and many villages with wonderful old buildings and churches.Indeed the accommodation was all we had hoped and more.

“Wonderful stay”
Reviewed 11 July 2014 for a stay in June 2014

We booked this with my wife's brother and his wife - all of us celebrating our Golden Wedding anniversary. We were there for three weeks and it wasn't enough. The Gite was all we wanted and more. The weather was perfect ( always a bonus). The scenery was stunning and the locals extremely friendly. We aren't ones for lazing about so we thoroughly explored the area as far away as Bayonne( delightful city reachable in under 2 hours), Carcassone ( touristy and not a patch on Bayonne), the High Pyrenees, Spain, Caves, Bastides, Eglises - you name it we saw it. Highlight was the music festival in Campuzon (about 5 kilometres away with a little shop and good Croissants) - pleasant way to spend a Sunday.

The only downside we had was to have to pay for clean bed linen - not much - but why. If we had only stayed a week the linen would have been changed as a normal item to get ready for the next party - something to be looked at, but it in no way reduced our enjoyment of our stay.

“The best of the South West”
Reviewed 2 September 2013 for a stay in August 2013

We know this area of France having had our own holiday home for 22 years, recently sold. We stayed at Gite du Paradis for a week and were very, very impressed with everything it had to offer. The gite itself is like a home from home with all you could possibly want already there. The house and the style are absolutely beautiful and wonderfully comfortable and clean. The garden and surrounding countryside are stunning. There are places to swim, walk, cycle, play golf, picnic, the breathtaking Pyrenees mountains within easy reach, and of course the cuisine is some of the best in France. But best of all at Gite du Paradis are the hosts, Heather and Trevor were so welcoming and friendly that we could relax straight away. Never intrusive but always there if you needed anything, or even for a chat. One thing we missed out on this time, that we would definitely book next time, is at least one meal cooked by Trevor, which you can order. Reading the visitors' book there are many references to his excellent cooking, so that's certainly what we will do next time.

“it doesn't get any better than this!”
Reviewed 30 May 2013 for a stay in May 2013

Over the years we've traveled extensively throughout Europe and elsewhere and stayed in various gites, apartments, hotels etc. The Gite du Paradis truly lives up to its name . Heather and Trevor have created a beautiful gite, very peaceful and serene. Perfect for re-charging your batteries! Lovely rural location and close enough to the typical pleasures of some little French villages. And the beautiful Pyrenees are close by. The gite is equipped with all that you could possibly want. Try it you'll love it - we certainly did
