What a great place this is! Upon arrival, we were greeted by host Geoff, a very nice guy. He settled us into our fabulous room and invited us for a drink right away. The rooms are amazing, with high ceilings, a superb queensize bed, big leather couch, bath tub and last but not least: an outside rock shower. What a great way to start your day when taking an outside shower!

Elephants Footprint Lodge is located just a 2 minute drive from the south gate of Addo Elephant Park. An ideal location. With it's Flintstone-like pool, nice staff, great a-la-carte restaurant and it's 12 rooms it is an accommodation we can highly recommend to anyone visiting the Addo Elephant National Park!

Cant recommend this place highly enough. We couldnt believe our eyes when we arrived, the rooms are fantastic, amazing high ceilings, fanastic bath and cool outside shower, pure luxury! The owner Jeff is so friendly and organised a fantastic safari trip for us. It is a brilliant place to stay when visiting Addo elephant park.

Stayed here en route to Addo after a recommendation from my brother, who'd raved about how helpful the host Geoff had been on his previous visit.

Excellent accommodation ( we loved the outside "rock" showers - if anything the website downplays the quality of the rooms) and just a couple of minutes from Addo's south entrance, so perfect location. After either a day's travelling or spent in the park, the in-house restuarant was just what was required. And the well-stock "help-yourself" bar and wine cellar was good fun to use.

Geoff was not only extremely knowledgable about the entire local scene with lots of helpful tips and recommendations, but a great raconteur as well if you've time for a chat. Our two nights were a highlight of a two week tour.

We arrrived late as we were doing the road trip from Capetown to Durban (Garden Route).

The hotel is cool and has a sort of Flintstone's meets Out of Africa vibe. The service was incredible and it was so much fun that it was hard to drag ourselves away from the place. He accomidated serious late check-out, and even kept some of the kitchen staff there late (past 11 pm) at night in case we wanted to have dinner after our drive. In the morning the juices were fabulous as were the breakfast sausages one of which was like a mini-boerwurst. The pool was also full of very interesting rock art work.

The outdoor shower was amazing as was the euro-style jacuzzi-ish spa tub. The water was so fast it was like a massage.

Honestly I was so upset that I left my camera back in California because the pictures online don't do it justice.

We arrived at Elephants Footprint Lodge and were immediately impressed by the great hospitality that awaited us. Geoff, the owner, was extremely kind and helpful with giving us all kind of information about the surroundings.

The huge rooms have an outside shower which we loved! There is an honesty bar in the cosy main room as well as a well-stocked wine cellar. We found it a great idea to have such appliances instead of a minibar in each room. Drinking alone is not half the fun. ;)

Geoff and his wife cook for their guests in the evening. You really don't want to go anywhere else for dinner, their food is fantastic. Try the desserts!

We met a couple with a 2 years old daughter there, to which Geoff was especially warm and caring. As he also has young children he knew exactly what they could do with the girl to keep her happy and that it was for example too much for her to go on a guided safari tour.

The lodge is only a few minutes drive away from the gate of the Addo Elephant Park which makes it an excellent place to stay if you want to visit the park.

In a nutshell: You get a lot for your money there and if we are ever again at Addo we will definitely stay there. Go for it.
