We loved this place! The chateau is so pretty, and the grounds were lovely. The room was very comfortable, with a nice, modern bathroom. The owners were delightful, very friendly and welcoming, happy to show before-and-after photos of the chateau - and they have done an excellent job, it is comfortable and charming. Breakfast was good, in the original kitchen. No hesitation in recommending - hope to go back myself sometime!

Room Tip: I was worried as Google maps showed that it was close to a road - but the road is very quiet, and th...

Staying here is quite a different experience to a hotel. It only has 6 guest rooms so it is very friendly and guest oriented. I have no hesitation in recommending it. There is a spa on site which has a jacuzzi, small sauna, walking machines and massage available. Our room and ensuite bathroom were on the ground floor, both were large and it was apparent that the room can be used by people who are wheelchair dependant if needed. It also has an external door which was handy for unpacking the car. I did a tour of some other rooms upstairs and they are all different and of a good size. Breakfast was included in our tariff and I found it delightful to sit in the large kitchen to eat. The buffet was good for me, pretty much the usual (cereals, yogurt, canned and fresh fruit, cheese, ham, bread, croissants, etc.) juice and a selection of teas and coffee. There is also quite a big lounge area for sitting if you do not want to stay in your room and seating outside. The surroundings are very pretty and it is very quiet at night. Be aware that there is no lift so if you have an upstairs room, pack light and the reception area is only attended from 5.00 to 9.00pm. If arriving outside this time bang the bell on the reception desk (lots) and call out loudly. Someone will come. We drove to Tarbes for dinner (10mins) which we didn't see as being a big deal. I found the decor a little strange for this sort of accommodation lots of lavenders, purples, grey and silver shiny bits but it would not stop me going back when in the area.

Room Tip: All rooms are different and have their own charm. Only 1 room downstairs so if you have difficulty...

We booked this via bookings.com as we were looking for somewhere to stay near to Tarbes without being in the city centre in a faceless budget hotel. It certainly has character and is in a lovely quiet location - Orleix is only 10 minutes from the centre of Tarbes. Which is fortunate as we had to drive there for dinner as the restaurant in the Chateau was closed for dinner (even for pre-bookings) We had a double room on the ground floor -which was large and lavender. More attention appeared to have been paid to the decor than the detail. Everything beautifully colour-coordinated in shades of lavender and grey. But no rugs or floor coverings on the grey linoleum made it very cold. Thin shabby towels. The fold down seat in the walk-in shower has loose screws coming away from the wall - making it a safety hazard. The extractor fan didn't work and there was no other ventilation in the bathroom. Breakfast was not included in the room rate so we paid extra for a rather disappointing continental affair: tinned fruit salad, one croissant and some (admittedly fresh) baguette. Free Wi-Fi was a plus.

Stayed here on the last night of our family holiday. The chateau is about a 20 minute drive from Lourdes airport and we had an early flight. The chateau is beautiful, everything is very well organised, the rooms are gorgeous and the owners are incredibly friendly. We stayed in three rooms with our four children (11,15, 18 & 20) and the children were impressed! Had a fantastic meal - this has to be pre-booked, and a lovely breakfast. I would love to return!

Room Tip: All the rooms are very different, look at photo's to help choose the one that you like!
