There are various reports relating to the access to this beach for vehicles - in reality by taking care on the unmade road then most vehicles will not encounter problems The quad bikes that race along certainly churn the surface and this doesn't help - but take your time, take care and you will find it is worth it

Lovely safe shallow sandy beach about. 40 mins north of paphos. Drive is part on unmetalled roads and is rough. Stick at it though as the beach has clear gently shoaling water and sift brown sand. No other facilities though out of season. Lovely and peaceful.

It was a nervous 25 minute drive in our basic hire car along the dusty bumpy rocky track to get to the beach but well worth it. The sandy beach is stunning. Only 5 other cars there so we had a huge section of the beach to ourselves. This is an undeveloped area for a reason!
Take a picnic - although there is a restaurant at one end of the beach.
The sea is clear and warm but shelves quickly but this means you can be swimming quite close to the shore.
We visited many beaches in the south west area of Cyprus and this was by far the best.

.... great trek from Coral Bay to Lara Beach taking in the delights at Lara Bay restaurant complete with sun drenched patio, perfect milkshakes, stray cats, mangy dogs and buff Greek gods!... Well worth the stop comments Laura Hall!

We visited Lara Bay near the end of September. Any reasonable car will get you there if you take your time, just be careful as its several miles of dirt track littered with potholes. Its a tiresome journey and the end result a major let down. Its a beach, nothing more. Check out pictures of it online and decide for yourself if its really worth the effort getting there. It is nice enough, but not worth the effort in our opinion. We found it to be a waste of a day.

It comes recommend in every guide book, but with all honesty, if its outside of turtle time, i see no point in making the arduous trek out to this remote and not easily accessible 'beach'.

On the other hand, if
