“Great family pub”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 7 August 2014

I booked a meal for 5 adults and 17 children ranging from 3 years to 16 for last Sunday, there was no problem accommodating such a large party despite only a day's notice and three changes to the time. When we arrived our tables were ready, the food arrived very quickly and everything was first class. Total bill €206.00 including fizzy drinks and a few pints of wonderful Guinness. Highly recommended for food and atmosphere

“Clannad and Enya”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 5 August 2014

This pub is the home of the Brennan family. They are a very large musical family and have produced amongst other Enya and Clannad.
The food here was excellent. The service was very friendly and first class

“Excellent meal”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 11 July 2014 via mobile

I arrived very hungry. Didn't know it was famous because of Clanad and Enya. I found that out when I stepped inside. There were lots silver and gold records on the walls. Its a beautiful place inside and the music was very nice I think it was Clanad. The staff very nice and chatty. Service reasonably quick as well. I ordered a lunch of chicken carbonara and got a bigger portion than I bargained for and too nice slabs of garlic bread. Lovely meal 5\5

Hi Stephwn

delighted you enjoyed your visit and yep the portion sizes are sometimes (ie most of the time) over the top.

Hope to see you again one day.

“My third time to eat here and third poor meal”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 25 June 2014 via mobile

Leo's is a renowned place in Donegal for music and has lots of visitors due to the fact it is the family home of the Brennan's of Clanad and Enya. The staff are always friendly and helpful and the music evenings great fun. Unfortunately the food is pretty terrible. There is no excuse- it has a lot of people passing through especially visitors from others countries and it's embarrassing how poor the food is. We called in for a meal last weekend- to give it another chance. There was no fish on the menu except battered. Well I could go to a cheap cafe for that! I asked for a stir fry but got a very poor curry with rock hard Naam bread on the side. They did apologise for the mix up but it wasn't the mix up that bothered me- it was just how bad the food was. It's such a shame as it has a good atmosphere but come on Leo's - improve the food!

Bernadette, let me start by apologising.

I remember hearing the staff talk about your visit and how embarrassed they and the kitchen was regarding the mix up.

I'm not sure how you keep getting poor food (3 times) when the vast majority of visitors (tourist & local) are very happy and complimentary about their meal. Tomazs our chef since March '14 has lifted the food quality and choice and I'm not sure how you got 3 bad meals!!

That said, we are not perfect nor claim to be!

I can only apologise for your bad experience(s).

regards

Cameron
