We had walked around Agrigento but had not found a place we wanted to eat lunch. We stumbled upon Gusto’Si and were so glad we did! The food is made from scratch by the husband and wife owners. We ordered special sandwiches, anchovies, salad and cheese and ham and cheese and salad; their homemade bread was out of this world delicious! The fillings were fresh and creative. If you are in Agrigento, make sure to stop at Gusto’Si!

My wife and I tend to not going to the same restaurant twice when we travel, but in this one, we had to. Amazing pasta, rissoti, panini and... don't forget... salate. Try to follow the advice of the owner... in a kind mixture of Italian-English, he will explain what is the "today's special". When I wanted to order something with Salmon fish, he made a strange face and said "ma ok, but you can eat that norwegian stuff anywhere, why don't you try something from here... something sicilian. :-) He was right!!!

You could easily walk past this little unassuming bar/restaurant if you are just wondering around Siracusa. Gusto'si is a family run bar/restaurant it is one of the best we have tried in Sicily, after travelling many cities for 2 weeks. My wife and I went there for lunch and dinner and we recognized 2 other couples that have done just the same. The owner Alfonso is the most knowledgeable and passionate host you could ever meet. Not often you will meet someone who has a degree in nutrition, grows his own vegetables and fruit and cook it for you and serve it to you. We have also met his son and wife and they are all very kind and hospitable. This family run restaurant is truly a gem ... Try Gusto' Si's salad with chickpeas and mix seafood ( our special request ) Caponata and the piadine .

So good we're coming again for lunch! Amazing food, the best-ever 'sandwich' style Sicilian food I've had. Forget paninis, try their 'plated tortilla'.

All previous reviews are correct - while other establishments treat you as second rate because you're not a local, the owner here is SO lovely, helpful and patient!
