“A must see”
Reviewed 11 July 2013

Not easy to find the entrance to this precious garden. But it is a must see. Laying in a creek a being taken care of by some enthusiasts teke an hour and walk through. See all the mediterranean plants and read from where these originally came from and who brought them to Sicilly. You will be surprised.

“Beautiful garden by Valley of Temples”
Reviewed 16 May 2013

The gardens are beautiful and peaceful. They are hidden from view when you walk around the Valley of the Temples. You have to pay separately to visit but we felt it was worth it.

“Paradiso”
Reviewed 14 April 2013

At first, with there being an additional charge, we thought we might skip visiting the Gardens of Kolymbetra. This would have been a terrible mistake. The site is in fact separate from the Valley of the Temples, it being run by FAI (Italian Environment Fund), and yet it is absolutely integral to one's experience of the antiquities above. Actually they afford quite the most exquisite view of the Tempio di Vulcano. The gardens have been in existence, more or less, since 500 B.C. Whoever the lady with the wild hair at the entrance was, who speaks four languages, she was absolutely delightful and clearly in love with her job as gatekeeper to Paradiso.

“Hidden World”
Reviewed 13 April 2013

Stumbled upon this Garden of Eden whilst visiting the Valley of The Temples. We were beguiled by its loveliness and atmosphere. Scent, flowers, fruit, silence and geology too. Take a picnic and feel the presence of the past.
